Transforming them in to outposts scattered in a large desert? Something like that I guess. That would be a Gmod-oriented map rather than a HL2DM map.

A dessert would be an even bigger problem in terms of optimization. Anyone else have any insight to this?

Also, is it OK if I submit my map later in the day tomorrow? I'm just about done with the layout- it's a mess, but I'll get to that when I post pictures- and I was going to do detail work then. My excuse is that I have been getting an unbelievably large number of assignments these past two weeks, and I hadn't really had time to map. I'll understand if the answer is no, but I at least request that my map is included in the HL2DM cycle, If it's done by then.

It's nice, but please, add a [i]shadow_controller[/i]. Turquoise shadows just don't look right.

It uses ep2 content so you'll probably have to play it in Gmod.

Well, god damn it. I'm going to have to throw in the towel. My layout is done, and if I put in some more work I would be able to get it done. The problem is that I'm not using skills I have not used before, displacements and actually incorporating arches into my layout. I also wanted to experiment with uderlighting, but I don't think this is the competition to do it in. If anyone wants to take the work I've done so far (about 95% of it is done in terms of game play, detailing and proper texture work still need to be done). I'll post a download link of the VMF if anyone wants to use it ( it's allowed, right?) if not, pm me. Good luck to the rest of the contestants.
