Make an animated texture and put it on a cylinder brush in the 3D skybox, so that the TDM seems to be moving, albeit slow. I'd say underground, since that gives a feeling of helplessness. Dunno where the zombies should come from in that case, though...

The issue you have is that the sprite does not fade out when you go near it. Lightglow removes the glow as you get closer to it.

Fix the rock texture. Make it "face" instead of "world" and then use alt+right click to make it make sense. Actually, just make the rock out of displacements.
