Stop. WINNING.
You're missing the point - it's Hammer Time. (STOP.) (Jeez that was a crap response...) ...And thanks everyone!
Its looks nice :3
Well,I start up, and I run exactly like I do in Gmod, and I jump almost the same, and yeah, is it supposed to be like that?
The lighting is spectacular, I can't wait to play it. The materials you used on the buildings look marvelous!
-Snip- I have my computer now.
Hmm... I can't say it's right to ask the community for the money. I think since one person did it everyones doing it. First of all, you need £600 for a REALLY good PC. Not just one that can start Gmod in under 15mins. A £300 one will do that easily. My mate has a £300 PC and it runs Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead really well, so I think Gmod will run fine! Secondly, as I said, £600 for a great PC, so does that mean YOU wont be donating to this cause? I think you should put at least £100 - £200. Let them pay for half and you pay for half. People in the real world need to work for stuff they want.

If it did, then I would have enough to get it all by tomorrow. I do want a desktop that's great for cpu/gpu-intense HD visual effects editing, and other such digital art areas. If I'm going to get a new one, I need it to be great for what I want to use it for. To be honest, I was joyed with the number of players who wanted another map, but very much saddened at the idea that they won't be able to see one for a very long time. I apologize if I appeared... demanding :/ I was very much afraid I would. Sorry ><
Yeah, I just realised whenever I ask for something I get butterflies in my stomach in case I get ridiculed. I feel bad now.
HELP EVERYONE! D8 Here's the story. My laptop's broken down for good, so progress on future maps has STOPPED DEAD >.< I was in the middle of adding the final textures to the custom models. I'm assuming the hard drive is alright, it's just connections/drivers that may be damaged. I was already thinking of getting a good desktop computer (to replace my Dell Inspiron 8600 - from 2003) when it broke. Before this tragic incident I did a small one-off visual effects job for the money I needed, but the whole project was eventually declined because further conditions were added at a bad time. So yeah, this is kinda me asking for money xD Although please note that without a new computer, I can't release CS_Freecity_Arena, and there's no way in hell I could continue with GPK_Freecity_Run (or even get started on anything else). A single pound/two dollars per player will work, or if you're feeling generous a fiver - I know you guys want another map (y'know what? I really want to play it too), so please just give something to keep this alive! So what's in it for you? Well, here's the part where I make my promise. I WILL get Freecity Run done if I get the new computer. It could still take a couple months, but it WILL get done! You can donate here or go there just to check out the map info etc. :) Target Total: £600 to £800 [EDIT:£400 to £500, I was thinking waay too much]. Let's see if I can get this thing before New Year's Day, eh? :D
Get a job?
Get a job?
I'm 15, it's Christmas and my school doesn't do job experience xP And about the ridiculing me thing, don't worry about it ;D
Would it be too much to ask for the materials? They're freakin' awesome. :O
Would it be too much to ask for the materials? They're freakin' awesome. :O
I have no computer at the moment, but if you do want them you can get them from the map file by using a program like Pakrat. If you use them, please remember to give me credit ;D Welcome to Facepunch by the way! :D
awesome map,dude!
OH HEY GUYS more map stuff on the way! I have to start again from scratch, but that's okay. Anyways I got my new computer. If anyone wants the specs for a reason that escapes me, PM me.
From scratch? You didn't lose all your map VMF's, did you?

Too much "Woah! It's awesome!" ... Someone was to be a critic. The map looks better in the pics than it actually is. I like detailed and smooth maps. It's quite blocky at some certain parts. I also found a problem here ... Also, I know that Mirror's Edge looks clean and white but it isn't. The surfaces have a bit of dust to them. Your "clean white" textures only manage to blind the player. I was running out of a building and BLAM! I just got blinded by the textures (couldn't see where the ground and walls where). Of course, that same issue can be said about ME itself. A big difference between ME and your map is the emptiness of the map. Not just the rooftops, but the inside of the buildings was even emptier. And if you played ME, you saw how filled they were and what a great architecture they had. Those are not even the half of issues I found ... Overall, it's a pretty nice map. But it's far from perfect. I'd rate it 6/10 (the custom textures got you a bonus). P.S: You can disagree or rate me dumb, but by doing so you're only admitting that I'm right (even if you deny it)
Thanks for the link, but the problem is that I don't have the BSP of the new map v_v A few new test screenshots.
Those textures and models are godly... Will you be releasing a pack of them? :D
Iceman, I agree with everything you said. It's definitely far from perfect, and I'm not sure if I'm able to get it anywhere near perfect. However, I'm currently working on a re-release which is more detailed and has the new textures & models. The page is here, expect it soon! C: And thanks for pointing out the floating building. Don't ask I have no idea Dx Also if you look behind the useless ramp in your second screenshot, you can see nodraw of doom.
Those textures and models are godly... Will you be releasing a pack of them? :D
Thanks! I don't know if I will, I'll need to think about that one. On one hand it's my stuff and my style (well, kinda mirror's edge more than mine :/). On the other hand, the community would benefit from them. I'll probably send them to people who PM me, although not at the moment.
