I hope those stairs and pillars are func_details.
Also, on those small shrub models along the walls (and detail models in general), make sure you disable shadows on them, they look strange with black blotches under and behind them on the base of the walls.
You do good for a first map, I think you should call it CF_Pillars. :v:

still trying to fine tune the lighting in some places but I have both teams spawn zones set up and flags and as you can see I got the 3d skybox working (= tell me what you think of it.
I plain on releasing the map by the end of June if all goes well.

It's looking good, but you may want to move some of the light entities away from the wall, they are making massive circular blotches that dont look good because there is no source. (Second Screenshot)
just got back from playing Prototype on the PS3 I will try and fix the lights in pic 3
I know you said 2 but there are no lights by the wall or no were close to the
wall in pic 2 so the only one i could think of was pic 3 with the two env_sprites
next to the wall.
also will get to work on making the displacements I made look a bit better never did
like how they looked in the first place lol not sure why I never fixed it.

My brother said It would be funny to have a hidden room which would Teleport you to the skybox area.
Side note be for I did this I had over 9000 portalclusters and 24000 numportals now its close to 2800 portalclusters and 9200 numportals now it only takes two hours to compile my map on normal vvis and normal HDR Vrad instead of almost getting done in 14 hours lol.

Yes that was a map I was working on 9 month's ago did not turn out how I wanted it to lol and no if you are counting maps I have started but never finished then yes the map I am making now would not be my first but if you are counting the maps I have finished it would be my first lol.
OK I have not finished the map yet but I am getting very close to lol lets leave it as that.
Side note never release your first map you make in hammer lol I have seen that all over the forums when people release fullbright maps and people start flaming them for doing so.
It's fine to finish your first maps. Just make sure it looks at least decent FFS.

Even though I never really got into TF2, I think this map looks great. However, it looks like the dirt/rock/whatever wall textures are repeating a lot. Is there any way to mix it up there? Maybe add some rocks jutting out the side, boarded up mine entrances, etc.?
I could do that it would not be hard to do.

Agree. Mostly the first maps we see here, is some that is made in hammer in a day or less. Although some makes their first map good, and reads tutorials and takes their time to finish a map.
