Good point. I was trying to keep it a bit bare and have a dramatic STALKER look to it, but you are right there probably could have been a few props thrown in there.

-Wall on the left comes to a point, cliff/dirt walls are not perfectly cut like that
-Wall in the back ground is flat
-You see maybe 3% of the building

-Tiles are poorly made and don't seem to project a proper shadow
-Wall textures are clipped (They don't move smoothly)
-Light could use a sprite
-Light could have been a yellower color since we are trying to say this is an old bunker and lights don't last forever.
-Could have added more props to ceiling like pipes

Wow. Thanks for the feedback. The last room was supposed to be an office of some sort I guess. The thing in the corner with the shelves and the shotgun was the "renovated" part where a homeless person was staying.
I don't know why but in the last year I became a perfectionist in mapping so even on my own work when I make and compile something I'll perpously find shit I did wrong and fix it, and do it over and over till I can't find much else.
I believe the next contest will be a cinematic/rail type competition, next prize will be bigger than $75 and I'll host the main thread, gamedev you can host the voting thread as mine was a cock up. Still in hospital. She hasn't come to yet, phones about to die so will drive home soon to find charger. Good luck all
Bit of contest history, but the prize idea came from someone on a Garry's Mod forum who offered a prize to the winner of the next contest I make, but only if I picked their specific theme. Oskutin, Zombiedawgs and I didn't agree with the theme, however we went with the cash prize idea anyway.

when you detail a room, it's much easier to work from top -> bottom

start with big details, like architectural neccecities and whatnot. (Supports are your friends and you should use them!) that room lacks some of those things and it makes the room look like t boxes connected together. (Reference images are also your friends and you should use them as well!)

put props and stuff, also related to architecture. Use logic to place props around your map, so they look like they belong there and aren't randomly thrown around the room. After that, a bit of random prop placement is cool too, but overdoing it will make the room will look purposeless.

Textures (interchangeable in process with prop placement). Think about the materials that should be used in the type of building that you're creating. (for bunkers it's usually concrete w/ some kind of softer material for the insides)

extra details, lighting, particles, and compiling (you should have probably compiled at some point earlier in decoration) oh also, lighting can completely screw up a map if it looks off. Avoid getting too extreme with the lighting, and make sure to have a variety of color variations and stuff.

I am also disappointed with my own and I can't even take it seriously myself.
Though I had a good product but never got around to finishing it, it was going to be a type of residence cascade like in half-life.

Not to be ignorant or rude, but I really think that some of the submitions where quite poorly thought through. All of the maps are cool and all that, but not all fitted the theme
If we're going for cinematic I might not join since I don't know jack about cinematic.
