Add me on steam and I shall fill you in.
You posted an infected fingernail that Craptasket called a penis.
I can understand that Craptasket would mistake an infected toenail for a PENIS.

As Hawx stated, I was incorrect. He posted more than one shock image/link prior to the ban, which led to confusion.

No he posted an image of a dick, sweetfriedrice or something.
rail/cinematic was discussed I believe?
What is the "rail" part of it?
Ask Modern Warfare 2.
All of you contestants did a really good job.
rail/cinematic was discussed I believe?
Cinematic.
Tell us what's in Tacos map that just blasts it past all the others in terms of quality and functionality
My opinion is what "blasts it past all the others in terms of quality and functionality".
yeah we're going with my idea of cinematic and we were since half way through the renovations thread.
Don't flatter yourself, it was my idea adding the rails.
I feel sorry for the people with lower votes, IF I was to win I would give £10 to someone seeing as I would only need £40 ( no I'm not just saying that to make you vote for me)

:h:
It's nice knowing you're not a douchebag who gloats around about yourself winning.
Christ, who cares who's fucking idea the next competition was. We have competitions to come together as a community and encourage teamwork and friendliness :frown:

I agree.
I think the challenge should be to create a video of the map, with stuff going on in the video. But the video shouldn't be edited at all out of game.

Animated Backgrounds Contest?

I still don't understand what the rails are or what they mean.

It's the same principle as a Rail Shooter, House of the Dead, Time Crisis, where you have no control over movement, but in the competition you have no control over anything.
Soo kinda like looking through one of these cameras:

Just gotta pretend there's people controlling it. Not you.
Whoa whoa whoa that is really restricting. We should be able to have people play it or not.
Whoa whoa whoa that is really restricting. We should be able to have people play it or not.
Not really restricting, you're still showing off a level...
Why do we have to have people walk on a track? Why not let them control their movements?
[editline]a[/editline]
What about that super 8 interactive trailer valve made in portal 2? that is a good example of Cinematic and user control.
Single player contest 2.0
Don't ask me, I'm just backing the idea, showing off a level with the use of a rail might be pretty cool. Would be like a movie. You could even have the player make choices at points in the level which affect the outcome.

We want it to be like a cinematic movie, though it doesn't have to tell a story.
I'd like to try and do something like this:

Valve even said in the commentary of hl2:ep2 they are trying to make their game cinematic like. Its around the part where you can jump the jalopy off of a ramp into a pile of boxes. I felt like I was in an action movie. So why not let the player control rather than restricting them to a tour of a map?
If people want to do that its fine, but it shouldn't be required.
Heres some examples of specifically what we're doing:

That might be an interesting idea, have the youtube url boxes in the video and it pauses at intersections in the map so the player can pick which video to do next by clicking the respective url box onscreen. Sorta like a Myst setup.

Could even do it in the map itself.

I think this would be brilliant fun.
