I'd love to see stuff like this too... Would be a really great, classic game mechanic, with a pretty engine to compliment it:

It would probably involve putting the player on a sort of invisible train, allowing them to look around, and crouch? There's a host of ways I'd imagine something along these lines could be accomplished...

That was another one of my ideas, a scrolling shooter, but you could still control the player.

Viewcontrol on a path_track would work, setting the viewcontrol to look at an object

Yes, I believe that Tacooo is getting friends to vote for him. If this is true then I recommend that the prize goes to StupidEye.

I feel sorry for the other contestants though, not getting many votes :( + 1 virtual vote from me to every one of them, apart from Tacooo, who doesn't get one. You guys did your best. God bless you all <3

Self voting has always been a cheap thing in my opinion. It's like you are so on your high horse you won't even consider that anyone else has done it in a more interesting way.

When i join a mapping comp, it's not so that i get votes. It's so i can map within certain boundaries and challenge myself. If i don't release anything, then it's not time lost, but more content i can add to a portfolio of my work. It is frankly a bit cheap to vote for yourself, and in my opinions, votes for yourself should not be counted towards the final tally.

However, all this is currently overshadowed by the fact that someone might be doing a George Bush on the votes. I don't see the point of Tacooo's at all. I don't see that he has followed the theme, or produced anything that looks good. To me it looks like a jumble of themes, mixed into one, then dumped out in hammer. I would like to hear the opinions of the people who have voted for his, to find out why they voted for him. But, although people are glad to say why they voted for others, the voters of tacooo's are suspiciously quiet.

If anything, hawkeye hawk has won something out of this...my respect to a fellow mapper. Which, as people know, that is quite a rare thing. He created something that was on theme, visually interesting, and he didn't vote for himself. And, at the end of the day, what is more awesome than a rocket in a lighthouse?
