Could someone give me a quick guide on how to get this installed please? I tried in ...Steam\steamapps\Tack122\garrysmod\garrysmod and in ...Steam\steamapps\Tack122\portal\portal\maps with little luck, though the first one loaded in Gmod without any trouble, it was portal free.

Yep, I came here via StumbleUpon, but I'm sure a lot of the traffic is also from Reddit. It's definitely bumped this threadview count up ridiculously in the past several hours. All for good, though; everyone ought to have a bit of fun screwing around in this map.

i thought there was a limit to how many times the portal could visually loop... has something been changed to create the fractals there? (frame rate must be low there... lol)

It took a lot of finagling to get mine to do that 'fractal' deal, looking from weird angles while intersecting portals left and right. When it did do it, though, I don't think it had anything to do with the visual looping of portals. It seemed to me much more like... well, okay, a lot like that, but just the way it changed as I moved my camera around and things, it was more like when your computer's really bogged down and you drag a window and it leaves a trail of windows behind it. Except that was happening radially into the portal. I'm not too awful sure how it works; I'm sure someone more qualified will pipe up with an explanation sooner or later.

yeah i get ya. i'd test it but i don't have portal installed at the moment... saving for later. =) sooo... i guess it's not going to do what it normally does when you tell it to divide by zero huh? =P

Its repeating the same thing over and over, and thus it doesn't need to render each one of those portals you see. The higher you set the portal render distance, the less of that you get. I have mine forced to the max (10, Max in options is 9). And I cannot recreate that effect without lowering the distance to 2.

It doesn't go into some void until the rest of your body follows but instead comes out the other side. I don't think aVoN could implement this into the gates as it is engine based.
