I was thinking about this the other day. Eventually I came to 2 ideas:
A. that no-one should be a Bigdaddy because it will be abused a ton, but players could be little sisters. A SNPC would follow you around and protect you.
B. Players would be randomly selected after applying for the job, and little sisters would be a SNPC. a huge penelty would be given to the player if the little sister died.
The Big Daddy SNPC sounds better since Little Sisters are... well... Little and can probably easily get killed as NPCs.

I'm confused... this is going to be a game-mod? If so, also just make a map and swep release, for those who just want to use it as a build map.

It's going to be a Gamemode and there is very little space to build anything. (I think)

Doing the second one would just make people run up and go "LOL THATS YOUR LITTLE SISTER SO I GONNA KILL IT" Then your just screwed by idiots who think since its bioshock there only mission is too kill your little sister.

How about code something like teleports aka the portholes seen in the game that only the little sisters can use?
Only problem I see with your idea is actually making the SNPC and making it work well and if some little sister decides to start griefing people shoot the LS, SNPC goes on a rampage so that ties into the role of the sister and giving her some job so she doesn't fuck shit up. Like, have a kind of healthbar for her that must be regenerated by feeding of corpses.
No... little sisters collect the Eve of course, so they control the plasmids and the lifeforce of the server.
They would have to collect Eve from people and the Bigdaddies would guard them... They may even be police of sorts... but they really shouldn't be.
I'm wondering if this map would be cool for just plain city rp too?

yea, some-sort of timer would need to be in-place.i was also thinking that you would be able to "knock out" the little sister, and be able to harvest it or something (there are other ways to get adam however harvesting a little sister yields adam quicker ). little sisters could also climb back into the port holes too.
making the LS a SNPC might be better though. i could have it climb out of the ports and follow waypoints searching for dead bodies. at the sign of trouble they run back to a port hole for safety.

yes, so if players kill/harvest all the little sisters they will no longer be able to get more adam. LS recycle adam from those who are dead (other players lol), and produce it themselves (which could be deposited at a adam bank and could be sold?). therefore, longer LS are alive, more adam they produce.

How about just take out the Little Sisters and Big Daddys all together and just have the players be the residents of Rapture after the "Big fuck up".
I hope a game mode of Bioshock will be made :).

I like this idea and instead of having to make custom monsters servers can just spawn zombies as the mutants.

I was talking about being the splicers since they are the residents of Rapture after the "Big Fuck Up" and Adam can be the currency.

... Quite easy, 'use time machine thinking backwards'... People used to go around to pubs, parks and many other public places... it's not that hard to think just try to imagine how does the Rapture would look like before flood and everywhere lying debris.
He's already started on the big fuck up version, so let him do that. Then if he wants, he can do pre-big-fuck-up.
I like the first idea, on the idea of little sisters as the players, they can't abuse the use of big daddies and if they are attacked, the over powered big daddy will kick ass. Admins/Mods should get their own big daddy model, since they will be 'less likely' to abuse it and not all big daddies were assigned to little sisters.
