Beautiful.
Darn it. When I try to use water awe it comes out pure black.
The material needs to be on a brush tied to a func_reflective_glass entity for it to work.
func_reflective_glass? It isn't showing up in hammer. Does it matter I'm using it for a Team fortress 2 map?
Metro System! Yeeeeeeeeeeeea! The water-color is not final, just playing around with it. That tented my pants.
Bathysphere still needs lots of work there, boyo. Also, because this is EP2, make good use of that Mining Lever for the Bathysphere! By Mining Lever, I mean this one, as seen as my uber-manly Stick-shift in one of my Gmod cars:
Bathysphere still needs lots of work there, boyo. Also, because this is EP2, make good use of that Mining Lever for the Bathysphere!
No no no. It's a bathybox. My visual tricks will not work if it is a sphere.
At least make the sides a little more rounded, or make the inside sphere-y.
Still, you've got to admit it looks really cool.
Notice the reflection in the water. That tinted my pants.
Fixed. Fucking ban me. (User was banned for this post (Reason: Requested) [event] 112097 [/event])
No no no. It's a bathybox. My visual tricks will not work if it is a sphere.
Still, needs some kind of detail. Perhaps a decal on the side saying "RAPTURE METRO SYSTEM" or something of the sort.
It's not done :) Let us look at it when it's further in progress Lol.
No no no. It's a bathybox. My visual tricks will not work if it is a sphere.
How so? Edit: Oh, by the way, I think the water color in the pictures of the bathysphere (sorry, bathybox) is perfect!
What the hell is this thread doing almost going to the second page? Any updates?
What the hell is this thread doing almost going to the second page? Any updates?
Glad you asked. That's fixed... It's not much because I've been doing all ent work, and the sinking particle effect. It's working though! Expect a demo Wednesday...
Oh god I could kiss you. be sure to have bubbles rise from the bottom of the window for added effect. This better be finished, I don't care how long it takes just as long as it gets finished. Awesome work so far, should look into some textures. I feel an urge to reinstall Bioshock, take some screenshots and make some textures just for you.
Wow! How did you get something to go into water and not get flooded in the inside? That always happens in my hammer!
Wow! How did you get something to go into water and not get flooded in the inside? That always happens in my hammer!
I'm guessing he isn't surrounding the area in actual water. It's an illusion, players think they are actually going into water with the splashing and seeing the water at the windows. A simple but incredible effect that I have not seen used before.

Looks amazing, can't wait. hope you have some good under sea ambiance.
Yeah, some cool underwater sound would really help the whole underwater aspect. But it's going to be crazy making that thing actually travel around to different parts of the map. How are you going to do it, have the player choose a destination then be off or have seperate subs like one goes from point A to point B and nother goes from point C to point D and etc?
Uhhh...WHAT?:beerbear:
Instead of the player actually going through the water it's a brush attacked to the glass to look like it.
There was actually a box shaped bathysphere in the Bioshock concept art.
I still don't really get it. How did he do the splash effect?
I still don't really get it. How did he do the splash effect?
Custom particle effect.

Oh... so that's what you meant when you said your trick wouldn't work! But seirously, Foda, I really want to make this map! Why am I the only one where the texture is solid black?! Is it that maybe it just isn't compatibe with Team Fortress 2?
