Forgot to do the curves, will do.
So I spent all of yesterday including portal 2 and l4d content, i just have to optimize today and its going to be a bitch
I'm looking forward to this. I hope everything turns out alright!
So I spent all of yesterday including portal 2 and l4d content, i just have to optimize today and its going to be a bitch
Including Portal 2 and L4d content? I thought you were not going to have it because not everyone has portal 2 or the l4d games. You said in the mapping thread that the map would only require css, hl2 ep2 and hl2 ep1.
Not everyone has ep2 either. Does that mean that Gamedev should not use ep2 either?
There is a larger percentage of people with ep2 than l4d and portal.
There is a larger percentage of people with ep2 than l4d and portal.
Where's your proof for such a claim?
There is a larger percentage of people with ep2 than l4d and portal.
There is also a large number of people with an Nvidia 6100m who also use steam. Does that mean that all games should run at max with that card?

Portal 2 and L4D2 are relatively cheap and great games, why would you not own them.
Plus they go on sale all the time
Portal 2 and L4D2 are relatively cheap and great games, why would you not own them.
I owned portal 2 since it's release. Only reason I don't own the l4ds since release is my first attempt at playing the l4d2 beta on my ancient pc bugged the sound and had a slide-show frame-rate. My pc today should not have any problems playing l4d2 on 4096x2160 with highest graphics settings at 60 fps. But I found buying it this late would be a waste and I am very limited with money since most of it is going on my pc set-up.
l4d2 on 4096x2160
So you're saying you have a monitor that is 4 times wider than the standard CRT monitor, yet you can't get 2 relatively cheap games?
Where is bad reading when you need it. My pc today does not mean my pc 3 years ago. I also said that my pc CAN play at 4096x2160 max graphics settings in l4d2 at 60 fps, not that it is doing that now.

Playing at a resolution higher than you can support doesn't do a hell of a lot to anyone or anything.

The screen I have right now is the standard 1920x1080 one and the only reason I mentioned the 4096x2160 resolution was to show how much of contrast there is in performance between my current pc and my pc 3 years ago which would play l4d2 at a slide-show frame-rate 1280x1024.

If anything, you should get a very very slight boost from the tiny HUD compared to the normal sized HUD from playing at a resolution similar to your monitor's size.
I also came to a realization that releasing this is going to be a bit odd. The content is about 350mb, which is fairly large for an addon; so i'll be releasing it exclusively on steam workshop in 3-4 parts. Not only that, also because you can't open it in Gmod or Ep2 without it crashing when looking at the map from above. And GM13 is probably coming out soon anyway, cba to release a big ass download on toybox
Umm, release light version of the map withou any valve's stuff. And later with some of them?
Umm, release light version of the map withou any valve's stuff. And later with some of them?
That too, but the full version still might be pretty big.
Just get the freaking games. Don't hold back because a few people are too cheap to get the games. Build it to it's full potential!
Crap. Well, I can wait for Portal 2 to go on sale for the Steam Summer Sale. It'll be dirt cheap at that point. It's the only game I need too. I guess it's good to get it too as I REALLY want to play Lamarr's campaign when it comes out, as well as INFRA. Good luck on the release GameDev.
Just get the freaking games. Don't hold back because a few people are too cheap to get the games. Build it to it's full potential!
The content is already in there, unless there's a file size issue i won't be going back
Sorry for the lack of updates, I got Source Film maker today :v:
Oh god Game Dev don't do what Max did with it, the horror.
Oh god Game Dev don't do what Max did with it, the horror.
Well, at least he'll also use it for more Earthbound Fortress 2...
Would you happen to have a sample of that city soundscape? And if the project is canceled would you consider releasing it to be finished by the community?
And if the project is canceled would you consider releasing it to be finished by the community?
He was kidding. Not everything everyone says is literal and orderly.
He was kidding. Not everything everyone says is literal and orderly.
Notice I said "if" the project was canceled, I really wasn't sure if he was serious... Thank you for informing me however.
