I would like to know how this is done, as I can't figure it out myself.
sorry for the meme but...is this the hammer equivalent of dividing by zero?
Worse. It's like dividing the square root of 0 by 0.
oh my God—it's full of stars!
Now apply some gravity script to that and you've got yourself a wicked build map/planet.

Already have. I run UU on it.

How is it worse? The square root of 0 is 0, so it is exactly the same.
UU? Ulysses Universe? Is that still active?
make it so there is a center of gravity in the middle so you can walk around the ball :o?
UU? Ulysses Universe? Is that still active?
Yes, Ulysses Universe.
No, it isn't active.
Damn. Too bad anyway.
Yes, Ulysses Universe.

Do you happen to be willing to give out that map? And possibly a script to get it working? Looks fun :3:

The OB engine doesn't like rendering a certain number of vertices at once and tends to not load at all. I took that pic in Ep1.
I use models for the planets instead.
Ohhh I remember that, isn't it Meggido's UU displacement planet prefab?
The spike thing reminded me.
I feel better now. I've done it myself:

It's 15,360 X 15,360, by the way. Pretty big.
Hey guys, there's very little wrong with what we're doing. It's perfectly fine and doesn't break anything. We start to break things by toying with it and making it hollow and carving with it.
I have no idea what I done but I have this

Time to compile right?
This man, however, did divide by zero.
Nerdboy, I thought this thread was about the 'world's roundest brush', not screwing up hammer...
Do I have to generate an even rounder displacement then upload the VMF?
You could make this as a brush in 10 seconds.
I don't get why it's supposed to be so terrible to divide by zero? If you have nothing and split it up into no parts, you just get nothing???

Actually, you get an infinite number. That is why you can't divide by 0.
I generated a sphere with 32 subdivisions per side, but it only rendered one quarter of one side (1/24), so I had to go through and manually copy and paste it in different orientations, which crashed hammer several times.
The result, a 150mb vmf containing the roundest displacement sphere ever created thus far.
I am uploading it at the moment as a 20mb RAR archive.
This... this is beutiful.

It's gonna get a whole lot more beautiful in about 10 minutes.
