My friend is now saying on TeamSpeak "Stop making bloody buttons which DON'T DO ANYTHING!"
I'm downloading it, but apparently you've made a lot of stuff look like it's functional but is just static.
Holy shit cakes!
I've been working on a map like this for a while now but it's no way as good at this.. unfortunately because now I've lost the will the continue it's progress. XD
Good job!
Edit:
The only thing that ruins the map is it's name.
Who's to say what government the Universal Union has outside the occupation of Earth?

Indeed. I'm surprised he didn't get himself 1.5TB at a RAID config. Lol

You know that is only the MAP NAME, I never made a costum texture that had the ship name on it and put it on. I thought that if someone was going to make a comic and includ this map in it (which is very unlikely because people say it laggs like hell) then a name on the ship might have ruined it.
=(which is very unlikely because people say it lags like hell)
That's putting it mildly.
For you it may be.
Some parts of the ship for me lag some, but a lot of parts hardly lag at all.
I'm also running off of only;
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 2.13GHz
1024MB DDR PC2100 RAM
eVGA 6600LE 256MB

Well to be honest I'm really picky with names.. it would be "dm_hmskarungi2orbit" if I were to make it, but that would be too long so it would bug me.. don't worry this is just how I am. XD
I'd like it if it were less system taxing, though you probably can't help that with it having so much going on.
At least i get consistency of around 10FPS with it

OH MY LORD M! 10 FPS? I get 2-5.
OH MY LORD M! 10 FPS? I get 2-5.
Well i do have a AMD Athlon X2 4600+,(Equal to a pentium 4.6ghz CPU or something) 2 gigs of ram and a Radeon X1900XT and i usually on most maps and in HL2 get mostly over 100FPS constantly.
Like i said, I like the map, but i find it extremely difficult to use, since I'm not the best poser at the best of times xD
Yeah, it's so laggy. I would love to roleplay with this map, but it's impossible. I'll try to throw a grenade and it'll drop out of my ass as I'm walking a mile down the corridor. My system is low spec (for now :D) but still above HL2s reccomended specs.
Please please please man, try and get this optimised for us unfortunate enough to have a low spec system. :(
Did you remove the list of things that didn't work? I could have sworn I saw it yestarday. Was it removed when Lord M edited the post? I know it was the crane and the teleporter that didn't work.
5 FPS :(

Bullshit. There is no consumer-grade processor that is 4.6Ghz.
I have the fastest computer in my neighborhood, a 3.2Ghz P4 OC'ed to 3.45Ghz.
All that the 4600+ means is that AMD decided to name it 4600.
In fact, I believe that http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103751 is your processor, and it is worse than mine.
Owned.
Bullshit. There is no consumer-grade processor that is 4.6Ghz.
Dual core processors at decent clock speeds have been known to rate around speeds of a 4 GHz processor.
That's my CPU, by the way. :ninja:
EDIT: Also, your Pentium 4 is a single core processor. The 4600+ that he had mentioned has it's clock speeds spread over 2 core. While his rating of 4.6 GHz is a little high, it's not too far fetched.
~snip~The map is noded, so you can use it for NPC battles, if you have a good enough computer that is... ~snip~
I see that it says "Performance rated as", meaning that it was going that fast at that millisecond that it was clocked.
Check it under load.

Reread what I wrote. The speed was rated at that. The CPU's clock speed is only 2.88GHz.
What the poster you had responded to was trying to say, was that the speed of his processor was rated around that of a 4.0~GHz single core processor.
Get it now?
EDIT: Also.

There is no way in hell that your processor is better than his. No matter how much you have it overclocked. Compare them here if you're not convinced.
Simply due to the fact that it is x64 architecture, and Gmod is made to work with the x86 architecture, is the difference.
And I am fully aware that a Dual-core processor will outrun mine. I was making the point that he was wrong about it being 4.6Ghz. Which it is not.
And as well, it says that it is dual-core, but I have one of those processors, and it is dual-thread.

Hyperthreading barely emulates dual core capabilities.
Also, x86 is just a certain way of making a microprocessor, and has nothing to do with the CPU's bit range, or at least, not in the sense that you think. Just for reference, every processor after the Intel 8085 (1970-ish) runs on x86 architecture. x64 (otherwise known as x86-64 :v:) is just reference to the processors ability to process all operations given to it in 64-bit integers. X64 innately supports Intel x86, simply because it's only a superset of the x86 family.
Also, he never said that it operated at 4.6GHz, he said it was equal to a "pentium 4.6GHz" by which I assumed he meant a pentium 4 at that speed. Moreover, if you were aware that a dual-core processor would outrun yours, why did you say this:

Yep that's what i meant.
Either way this map, as it stands is going to chug heavily on both your CPU and GPU which is a shame as it's a very nice map.

I really only noticed that when I looked in certain places, but the framerate drop isn't really that bad (compared to bahamut, jeez!)
The lowest I got was in the room with all the thumpers, but it only dropped down to about 40-50 fps. The rest of the map I got something like 140-150.

It does for me, most of the time the FPS are around 10 or so, then again i do have everything turned up as high as they go.
Whereas Bahamut gives me a lot better FPS
