Iv'e noticed that these threads have a lot of people that freak out over little things. instead of flaming him about carving say how the rest looks really nice then mention that carving causes issues.
Or, we could just skip the prancing around and arse kissing and tell him what he wants to know: what to improve on. If we aren't telling him to improve on it then he can surely assume it's good. He'll have plenty of non-mappers to call him god-like for his mapping when he releases it anyway.
More trees and dense brush if you want a jungle. Also, use displacements for the ground. No ground in nature is perfectly flat.
Walls in the first pic seem too thin...

Ps. I finished the gate today: player can open it through control panel. (The island was abandoded ages ago, but power is still on in some areas. If you wonder what is the main power source: wind power. At the very end of Trespasser, player enters to wind turbine area in very near of top of the mountain.)
Looks very nice, just get to displacing and adding some more foliage!
Jungles rarely have flat grass, either mud or some vegetation. Your map seems to have a lot of flat grass.

(For example, T-Rex SNPC) Update (SNPC by xystus)
Reminds me of trespasser. Good job so far :)
I like it so far, and in all honesty I'm getting this map when it's done. But depending on how long the island was abandoned, it should have more underbrush, dense trees, thick vegetation.
Look pretty decent
Oh hay you're still working on it.

Make the ground more uneven. It just looks odd being completely flat.
Where can I get thoses rocks and trees?
http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=51174
Gotta love props ripped from other people's maps without permission, and uploaded from the EP2 GCF. Very legal.
I own EP2, so nah. Anyway, back to topic:
Really reminds me of that part in Trespasser! Great job! [editline]02:08PM[/editline] You just need to place that building with the lockers ect in it.
