Alright guys, don't worry. No matter what, me and tango will have something to enter. We're working on it sections at a time so that when the deadlines rolls in, we'll have something to show.
Anyone else know if they are entering something for sure?

well i've been dogging this competition for a while because i haven't really made any progress on my map. i have thought about doing something whole new, but the map part of this is not what's going to trouble me, it's the camera thing that i can't do. i did some reading on the subject and also some tests but i couldn't get it to work the way i wanted it to. there was also the problem of me not getting a model needed for the map. but as i said, i could make a new map and figure the camera thing out.
I am almost done with my entry, just making the last details
I hope everyone can make it to the deadline and have good entry's.
me too
would be disappointed if not
i lost my cinematic project. im done.
I love how in order to make this work, i need 21 clones of the same room. Yes, that is my ultimate solution.
Let the renaming begin.
And thus, i have already managed to mess it up. This is seriously a cure for insomnia.
How exactly is this contest going to be judged? There's nothing about it in the OP.

How the map looks, and how the cinematic aspect is.
[QUOTE=~ZOMG;30639916]Perhaps, but again, it may discourage people.[/QUOTE]
blacklisting discourages people.
having a competition thread with a total scoreboard like suggested earlier would encourage people to finish more often, which is a great thing for the mapping community. Because even the most basic competition mapping is great practice and makes you a stronger mapper overall.
Don't bag out a shit idea, kay?
yeah i think competitions should go by people voting the topic
yeah maybe theyre not original but at least we make something we all like with less dropouts
I am done. Will post a vid in a sec.
I have sent my entry to all the judges, i think

That was great, but I'm not quite sure I understand it. [sp]The voice says he's never seen light, and from what I can make out, the voice belongs to the black guy, who's standing in front of a fire.[/sp]
I'm so challenged with these cameras. I'll likely not finish.
Actually, I'm out. I can't finish before the deadline.

It's really meant to be interpreted, and yeah if you look at it without doing that it does not make sense.
Spoiler for those who want to figure it out/interpret it them selves:
[sp]It is supposed to tell a story about a person that never dares to do anything new. He just stays in his own "cave", with his own version of whats out there. The voices he talks about, is his consciousness telling him not to do anything new because it might change him. By light, I mean changes, hence the man have never done anything new. He just sticks with what he is used to.[/sp]
Reminds me of a story in one of the horus heresy books.
Three men sit in a cave. They have adaquate supplies, and they have lived in that same cave all their life. There only light is a fire. One of the men gets lost wandering around the caves, and emerges into the light. He returns to the other two, to tell them about the light, but they refuse to go, on the basis that all they need is there. So the man leaves and digs down to his friends, to force them to see the light.
In the original version, the two men kill the one who has seen the light, in another he is praised.
Wow, didn't realize that similarity. I have always been a fan of Warhammer (and played some ofc) but I never gotten the chance to read those books. Perhaps I will.
Yet another mapping contest that I never bothered to enter. :smith:

[editline]1[/editline]

Hell if I know

Updated OP with nice [noparse][list][/list][/noparse] BBCode :neckbeard:
I'll wait until I receive all of the entries, and post a detailed write up on each of them.
Are the judges to follow a specific criteria? If so, could we have it outlined so we all
do it the same way?
one thing gamedev, can you make the names of the judges links to their pagething, so that we don't have to search for them? would make stuff easier.

We should have a meeting at the end, discussing witch ones we like and such.

Quality of map, detail, quality of cinematic, etc.

I will make you win if you pay me 50£ :unsmigghh:
So when the Judging begins, everyone will upload their map for everyone to play on?
