I love the judge system, this way we don't get entries trying to get all their friends to vote for their entry.

That's a pretty fucking stupid decision tbh,there's no point to it.
I wanted to see the entries but I'm not gonna download ep2 or any other game that has content in the map from it just because of a map.
It's more like lazyness from the judge's side if anything.

My entry doesn't record very well. The framerate drops so low that the music ends way before the scenes, and so it makes little sense.
-Best riding horse 2011, But you have to go ride the horses yourself to find out how good they were.

In that case I think the best solution would be if the judges would upload a video of the map.
So they'll have some duty other than just giving criticism/opinions.
Anyone can feel free to post videos themselves if it means that much, just because GameDev won't doesn't mean it's illegal or anything. I would myself, if I could.

There was a bunch of people complaining that they couldn't upload videos because their PC is shit, so I just said forget it.
Unless you guys want to upload videos, that's the only option here.

My pc isn't shit, far from it, it's just that my framerate goes from 300 to 3 if i try and record anything.

I was worried I wasn't going to judge it in time, so I decided to get it out of the way. I recommend that to the other judges too.
Just dropping by to let you know I'm on it... I want to go over the videos again properly and give a breakdown of my thoughts on each, I simply haven't had a moment to do so yet.

It's more productive to think of ways to make the next contest better instead of just complaining about this one. Generally, if you didn't have any input in it's creation and you didn't pay for it, you really shouldn't complain, hence why I suggested he makes a better one, so he [i]can[/i] complain without coming off as useless.

Alright, deadline for judging is right around the corner. We got our entries in on time.
Your turn.
Next comp should start right after this one ends and run for 3 weeks with a week of public voting at the end. That way we get a clear idea of whether shorter competitions are the way to go or not.
I'd be up for a shorter competition myself because I can never find the time to work on a competition map for 2 months.
I'll average out the judges scorees, whoever gets the highest wins I suppose.
Will be judging tonight upon return to house I live in, obviously.
