Nice. Still feels like something's missing though.
It does look less blocky. I guess.

[IMG_thumb]http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/481/2bgxozossmq.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
But maps need 10 times more detail than real life to seem realistic. If you're making a fucking crate out of brushes, it had better be fucking round.

The railings in the warehouse made it better. Maybe add a few cargo containers or whatever.
are you going to make it boxed in like the actual construct? this means have huge, unexplainable walls around the entire map. are you going to add a lake of some kind to make it more construct-like, as well as a skybox?

Make that weird building-collision thing that gm_construct has in the Skybox. It's hard to explain.
or, place a brick wall that is 512 units high and put a skybox around the map. think people...
I was referring to how the two buildings in the skybox are in each other. I'll get a picture later.
Along those lines... Make that weird building-collision thing that gm_construct has in the Skybox. It's hard to explain.
They aren't technically in the skybox that's how They are inside the main level but not within the play area, but definitely not in the 3D skybox. They are full-size instead.
I was planning a large wall around the map with an expansive 3D skybox around it. Also probably a 1:1 transfer with car blocks or something, like a roadblock at city gates so you can't actually go through but it looks like you can, I always think those are cool.
Yeah, that would be awesome
New building :D I noticed their was a deficit in run of the mill office building, so I fixed that. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d58/photobug101/rpconstruct22shhhggg0002.jpg?t=1265071789 http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d58/photobug101/rpconstruct22shhhggg0001.jpg?t=1265071867 http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d58/photobug101/rpconstruct22shhhggg0000.jpg?t=1265073209 Each building has six larger offices for a total of twelve offices. The center bridge is just a placeholder, it'll look better when I finish that entire area. Also, for contextual placement in the map it's behind the police building.
third image is broken.
third image is broken.
Third image is now fixed.
Third image is now fixed.
Third image looks nice.
Wow, this map looks pretty epic :D
Oh, fuck that. I just lost a huge amount of progress on that building. I basically have to retexture, restair and rebridge the entire thing. That and I just broke a guitar string. At least these shitty things are lumped together, right?
This map looks like it has some potential.
They aren't technically in the skybox that's how They are inside the main level but not within the play area, but definitely not in the 3D skybox. They are full-size instead.
Let me find it.
The bridge is kinda sticking out there. What's supporting it, and what's preventing people from walking over and falling off that flat piece of brush?
The bridge is kinda sticking out there. What's supporting it, and what's preventing people from walking over and falling off that flat piece of brush?
Center bridge in that picture is, or rather was, a placeholder. I added proper supports and railings. Update: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fNhmxvaBQ4
Update: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fNhmxvaBQ4
A leeeeeetle fast there buddy
A leeeeeetle fast there buddy
I just wanted to dump a whole bunch of screens in one spot. Just pause it on the ones you want to see; that way they can last for as long as you want.
That and I just broke a guitar string.
Sorry for the off-topic. I am a guitar player too, and I was just wondering what guitar you have. Now, some on-topic. The map is coming together nicely. At least you're actually working on it, I seem to get bored on a project before I am able to finish it. In my eyes, beeing able to work for quite some time on something, is impressive.
3649 hours / 24 = ~159 days
Dude, that's not half a year.
Dude, that's not half a year.
Yeah it is, it works out at an adverage of 152 days. 3649 ÷ 24 = 152.04 days [editline]09:04PM[/editline] Well almost half a year. 365÷2= 182.5 days
I have a nice acoustic, a crappy off brand electric and an okay-for-its-extreme-cheapness Ibanez electric bass which I plan on replacing soon.
Okay, that's nice. I love playing acoustic. I've got a Jackson RR3, one nylon string acoustic and one steel stringed acoustic. Again, sorry for the off-topic.
Okay, that's nice. I love playing acoustic. I've got a Jackson RR3, one nylon string acoustic and one steel stringed acoustic. Again, sorry for the off-topic.
Mmm. I mainly play acoustic and bass, although I'm trying to get into the bass more because everyone plays electric and most people if they play electric well can play acoustic, it seems. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I own a Blueridge BR-60. The bodies look almost exactly the same but the headstock is a bit different. I inherited the guitar from my mother, so I'm not sure exactly which guitar it is, just that is says Blueridge on the headstock. For strings, I play D'Addario phosphor-bronze medium gauge strings. Also I have an Ibanez GSR190. It's pretty not that good but I wanted to learn and start playing bass so I picked it up in a kit.
