Rather big.... My first map was worse than this I admit, But I've come a,ong way, mostly in a week. Look up videos on youtube and stuff and it should be a good map.

Watch 3kliksphilip's lighting tutorial (it isn't really a tutorial but it shows you different lighting styles). I know 3kliksphilip isn't really too helpful and it's very basic stuff, but for starters likey you and me you may aswell watch it. The tutorial explains basic lighting and different lighting schemes, all you need is a light prop and to increase the width on the point_spotlight and to also add different coloured lighting, a yellow would've suited that cave like design. It helped me with lighting, hell i didn't even know it existed at first. My lighting still sucks but 3kliksphilip put me in the right direction.

With what I have planned, and my sketches. It could turn out pretty good for a first map. Nice map, would allow for some nice themes. And if you want an automatic door, simply make a func_door or two, then a brush with a trigger texture, then make it a trigger_multiple and set the trigger open/close the door when someone triggers it. Hi Guys. I'm having some trouble with a skybox at the moment. I downloaded a custom one to use in it, and they were .TGA so I Converted them to VTF and VMT and put them in a folder. I then put this folder in my HL2DM materials folder, and in my Gmod materials folder and have applied everything correctly in Hammer (I think.) Yet still, when I open gmod it shits itself and it sorta, copies whenever I turn, if that makes sense.

Just change the ft to whatever the side actually is.

I know 3kliks makes mistakes in SOME tutorials. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with this tutorial in particular.

Maybe I wont. I found a very nice skybox on FPSBANANA and did the same as before. Still no result. Does anybody want to take a look at the file and see if it's right? Maybe possibly fix it for me and tell me what I did wrong so I know in the future, too.
