Judging from that video, the layout looks interesting, however that long stretch visible at 1:53ish might be a bit too long with minimal cover. I'd spend a while detailing, too
Noted!
well, if you say so, but the next map i'm working on is one that i won't go to waste, so keep your eyes peeled c:
1. You made something

Yeah that fog is really off-putting especially for a map that is supposed to be dusty.
rev up them func_dustmotes
or whatever the dust thing was :v:
Good to see OP realized why people were getting snarky with him.
Just, please, for the fucking love of god, don't use someone else's name next time
Okay, no problem!

Why not spend time finishing this one so you gain experience detailing instead of starting another project? That used to be my pitfall.

Moving onto a different project means whatever inspired him for this map will still be burning somewhere inside, that he might return to it in future with more experience.

Better luck next time!!!
ok .-.
Update:This is a map that is already fully functioning, but needs more attention to detail and possibly some more sub-routes.
You encounter the enemy in like 1 second. On most maps its large enough to move 3 feet before being killed.
I suppose this map was atleast decent but I could do better. I will do an entire redo of this map later on, but for now, this is what you get.
its good for a beginner. a lot of people here learned to map by making small maps first to gain experience. anyway, its ok to disagree with some criticism, but you dont gain anything when you disagree with all of it. I suggest you keep practicing.
Best of luck on your next map, and please dont wind up like this guy

trying to pay attention to the map but whoever made that youtube video is absolutely awful at the game :v:
AndromK, you really need to take a step back here and actually focus on what these people are saying. Nobody likes to hear their map isn't good enough but every map is like that at some point and you need some external input. I was in the exact same boat as you about 4 years ago when I really started getting into mapping. I was all excited to release my first spacebuild map and then poof, I felt as if everyone was throwing rotten vegetables and shoes at me. I had worked hard and spent a ton of hours on it. But because I was new to mapping, that time and effort didn't produce a good end result. So I felt terrible and like I just wasted all my time and wnated to give up. But I didnt. I kept making map after map. Testing things. Experimenting. Watching tutorials. Compiling. Scrapping. Rebuilding. Compiling again. Hell my latest project which is getting close to release has been scrapped and rebuilt 3 times.
I look back and think "man, if I had just listened to those people, that map might have been a lot better and a lot bigger of a hit. But look at this thing. http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=65146 I expected people were going to love it but man. I look at it now and think "Wow who's the idiot who thought that map was done? Oh right, me."
Bottom line is, in order to be a successful mapper and create worlds people love and enjoy, you need to bite your tongue and accept this not-so-constructive criticism. Nobody is going to call your final map garbage if you take criticism and improve the version you think is done.
I hope to see another version of this map (hopefully under another name too, sorry, dust is like evocity, shouldnt be used) in the future with all this criticism taken to mind.
Played the map for 10ish minutes, found 3-4 spots that you could easily boost out of the map from. Really wanna put a big invisible wall around that shit so people cant jump out
