That's where I got the idea of a Silo from and the low lightmapscale.
Yeah, I really can't wait until I learn to texture and model.
Those wall textures, the embedded ones rock.

Try 4, and it should be better when you have the episode 2 engine. Alternatively you could try using -StaticPropPolys as a compile param, it makes it take a lot longer but it uses the mesh geometry of props instead of their collision meshes, it's noticable on things that have a simple collision model but complex meshes, like truss props.
This thread has inspired me to get better at mapping. So, starting now I'm going to work on making nice architecture and lighting. Thanks for the inspiration!

I have not forgotten about this thread, although several months old, rather than it be put into the archives I thought Id'bump it and show what I have chosen to carry on. After thinking I chose to continue my hospital map which will be used now as a part of a singleplayer map for [url]www.HalfWit-2.com[/url] Community map, if the community map declines and fails to finish I could always break apart and use my hospital map alone. Anyways, onto the new parts of the map I may start a new thread on my hospital map, seeing as my old one got ARCHIVED!. Ya know, those last 2-3 pictures of the hospital map, I done something similar to it ages ago, I like that style of architecture in my maps, but I never released it. All I can say is, pick what one you want.

I like the Abandoned Hospital looks creepy and be good for a few scary movies.
I love it, you should probably add something like that giant blast door you had in the other map, you should have two buttons to open each door and have a third button that will kill anyone in the room. You should make it so that you have to close the doors before you can press the third button and make it so it blows in the gas and kills the player, so that it seems like poison gas. You should also make the door lead into the security or something important. -Sorry if it seems like I'm rambling on about it.
Continue on the underground lab map! The other map is too empty i think but the underground lab has more style like Black Mesa

The lab. You could make it like a mini Black Mesa or something (not the mod). Or it could be part of BM that was cut off from the rest, safe from Xen. A ghost-lab!
I'd like the hospital map to be done. Looks awesome. And Splatzone that's what I'm doing now...The Mini-Mesa Mod.
I don't like the hospital one that much, but the bunker one and the black mesa one are PERFECT FOR CONTINUATION.
You should do them both over time, do the underground lab and the base whenever.

Hey, I'm making a map called bunker right now! :v: It's simply a code name, it's more like your underground lab (that's technically what it is, like black mesa or something) without the snazzy trains (I don't think I can make them very well :(). So far it's an entrance hall place and a corridor :v: I like the underground lab, I think you should continue with that. [B]Edit:[/B] Wait, I like the bunker one too!... And the hospital :(
