It's a bit of a bump, but just a reminder to everyone how awesome this map is, and how dearly we need a version that works on the new engine. I was playing gm_megastruct_final when I remembered how much I missed this map. You said that a fix would be coming soon a very long time ago. Please tell us you haven't given up on making this work for the new engine. :(
I second that
Please Fix for GMOD 2007.
Ok, I'm sorry about the long absence, and no updates. I've had a lot of uni work, but I'll be off for 3 weeks soon, so I will release an updated version. i lost the original after my hard drive died, which contributed to the delay, and was especially annoying as I was making the buildings enterable, and adding EP2 trees etc.
I will release the beta again for the time bieng, and I'll work on a new version with trees and enterable buildings, as well as other improvements.
Finally! :D
Welcome back, I can't wait for a fixed version of the beta. News of an official update to the map is also awesome to hear!
Awesome, hopefully someone hosts a racing server with this map :O
Awesome. I never got to try it before the engine change, and I thought I was going to have to miss out.
Ok, run into a few problems. When I compile without lights, the map plays for about 3 mins before it crashes to desktop with a generic HL2.exe error. After compiling with lights, I get an Engine Hunk Overflow error, which is perhaps the most random name for an error I've seen, and one I don't know how to fix.
I'm not sire how to fix this yet, but I'll get it sorted, I just don't know when. There's not much help online for this error so it's gonna have to be fixed through trial and error.

That would be me... most likely. :ninja:
hope this gets fixed... i really want to play it
I agree! Please fix this map. It is one of the best that I've played!
Hey, this is nice!
I can see myself building little "wire-RC" cars already!
cool
See if you can get the creator of gm_mobenix_v2 to tell you how to do npc driver opponents, because those are fun as hell to drive against!
Very nice, mapping king for you.
Nice work! I like the idea.
OK, it's been a LONG time since i said anything about this map, but it seems as though someone else has uploaded a fixed, fullbright version on garrysmod.org.
I think that the crash to desktop situation is something wrong with my own computer, although I've tried fresh installs of steam and everything so I don't know. If you want to play the map again, then follow this link: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=44175
I've just started a new map however, called gm_oceandrive, which will hopefully work properly with EP2 and the new Gmod.
Cool. I never got to play the original. Good luck.
I missed that mountain drive map, loved driving off the cliff's and shit.
But, gm_oceandrive sounds awesome, keep up the good work :D
Needs to be a bit bigger, in my opinion.
And maybe some train track for roleplay, or something, up to you.

Fullbright. :argh:
Ocean drive sounds cool. There's a thread for it in the mapping section right?
Not yet, it's still early on. When I'm satisfied that it at least looks good, then I'll start a thread and upload screens.
all that guy did was tweak the lighting, so now it looks terrible
Yeah, it's the lighting that causes the hunk overflow error.
could you make the map bigger? like the tunnels could go somewhere other than being covered over in rubble!
Looks like a fantastic map, shame the only version that works is Fullbright :(.
But oh well, I hope it's possible to fix it while retaining the lighting. From the screenies, it looks stunning.
Edit: I've just realized. I don't get a hunk overflow error. Instead, I get something like "bad surface texture on model XHUF" or something. It crashes to the desktop, too. Might this help you?
Uhhh... Read dates before you post

I like this map a lot, will DL when I get home (in Wenatchee with grandparents for Thanksgivin now). Now, if someone will run it...^.^
Sorry to bump this, but does this work with the current gmod?
Why wouldn't it ?
