Im always listening to music... And occasionally screaming at the computer when Hammer crashes, or something doesn't function the way I want it to.
No, talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity.
Looks like I'm insane then.
Come on man, MAKE THOSE FUCKIN' BRUSHES. YEAH NOW TIE IT TO AN ENTITY! OH YEAH, NOW WE'RE COOKING WITH ENV_FIRE!
I guess that means that mappers arent normal... I also comment on thing, Like where to place brushes, I am like "Move it a few clicks up, No, To far..."
If mappers are weird, LUA coders are batshit insane. There are some cool guys though
Depends, sometimes when playing a mutliplayer map add a sort of storyline to explain what i am doing.
If mappers are weird, LUA coders are batshit insane. There are some cool guys though
Jesus... Im to the point of ripping out my hair doing THAT... "FUCK! i forgot a "."! Dammit i mispelled Vehicle_CameraController wrong! SHIT! I forgot I cant run Clientside commands on this function!" Yeah...
Yea.. No. I listen to my music and keep really quiet, I do drum on my desk while compiling though.
I also like to open up GCFScape and play some random music files from source games.
no
I mumble to myself usually, if I am not listening to music. If I am, I might burst out dancing on my chair while the thing is compiling. Heh.
I HAVE talked to myself out loud when nobody's home and I'm in the basement, other than those few times, I just keep talking in my head, especially when mapping, I keep thinking "oh yeah this looks nice, wait, why the hell won't this align right? Where did that button go, I JUST used it." and anything else like that. Even when I'm listening to music.
I talk to myself when I'm mapping, when I'm testing a compile, when I'm sketching or pitching new ideas. Crazy as it sounds I find it does help.
usually i just talk outloud to make sure i know where im putting stuff :P but especially if something goes wrong i start having a conversation about how stupid something that just happened is and how it needs to be fixed somehow. that or a yell at myself for being my usual self: a moron. DOH!
no :/ but back in the day, talking to yourself was a sign of intelligence
Most of the time I don't. But sometimes I suddently shout stuff like : HOLY FUCKING SHIT YOU FUCKING BRUSH WHY THE FUCK DID YOU DO THAT FAGGOT and so on for two minutes.
I talk to hammer. And it listens. Then it crashes.
When you are making a map, do you talk to yourself? When I make maps I sometimes act like I'm making a video tutorial.
ugh I do the same thing lol
No, talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity.
Talking to yourself is the first sign of genius. Some people just hate and even despise it... Now thinking, normal people are way more dangerous, than "insane" people.
I talk to myself like I'm making a tutorial. In 3kliksphillips voice. :ohdear:
Oh god THIS.
Only if I encounter problems.
You use a carve in map, that you have made for 55 hours, and havent taked backups, yes?
I listen to music while mapping.
I always talk to myself. Hammer changes nothing.
I only shout the ocasional "fuck!" and "Balls!" when i map.
I listen to music while fapping.
Fixed for you. No need to thank me.
Me: LISTEN BRAIN, WERE DOING THIS TOGETHER, START COOPERATING! Brain: stfu ho
I think I have some sort of internal narration going on while I map but I'm usually so focused that I don't notice it.
