I need some help guys. I've got the package and the material for it, and I can apply it right over the model by dropping and dragging. But i'm stumped now. How can I export the texture so it can be usable? I tried to do a bit of UVW wrapping, but almost ate my hand off in frustration. Any tutorials or things like that? The material isn't even a net, it's just this: [img]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18250036/package1.bmp[/img] Any help would be really, really, really apreciated.
Model exporting seems to work, atleast for TF2, since the Ep2 viewer is broken. Models are scalled up 40x. [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18250036/gm_grandtheftauto0001.jpg[/t] Models work in game, yep.
Sky should be grayish like GTA III. When i played that,i had no idea if it whas day or night. So yeah,lotsa fog and gray sky.

I was thinking about exporting some GTA Vice City models (entire sections of Vice City) into Source and I ran into this thread. It's sad the project crashed and burned, but I hope I can find the time for the Vice City map so that we have a GTA map of some kind. Sirdownloadsalot, how were you able to export the models from 3DS Max to Source? I'm having a material struggle, as I can't figure out for the life of me how to get the model with materials from 3DS Max to Softimage.

The textures themselves i just put into .vmf's, as the model already seemed to know what to do with them.
I'm having no luck on my end. I'll have to come back a long time from now when I've learned how to port the models correctly.

Just get 3ds max by going to [url]http://students.autodesk.com/[/url] All you need to do is register as a work-home student and you can simply download any Autodesk Program for free. Trust me, its from autodesk itself.
