Woah...i never thought i would get a rise out of a comment about his graphics card.
Ok, maybe i suspected, but not such a wall of text.
Ok, fine, i knew he would kick off at such a stupidly small comment.
DrSalvador- it's GAMES tester, get it right. I didn't spent 10 months on football manager for you to insult me by calling me a software tester. The cheek!
Oh, btw i made a map in 7 hours for the last competition...and that was mainly because i am teaching myself how to code, model, uv, sound edit etc for a game im working on. And i'm not using gamemaker before you raise that point, no i am using a proper engine, and i do it in order to get my ideas on the page.
Maybe it's because i'm English, that i want to fight against the inevitable, to change my future through force of will and force of action. We learn to appreciate what we see, and what we half see, and then act on it. Did a sane mind come up with the Blue Peacock, a nuclear land mine, or the antitank mine disguised as camal dung for use in Africa. We hid major docks, and the suize canal. We did so much in the past, and those who accept themselves for who they are and push past what they can currently achieve create masterpieces.
Of course, DrSalvador cannot comprehend the mind of the one who came up with the idea of a nuclear land mine, let alone the mind that decided to insulate it with live chickens, and then went about calculating how much feed and water they would need inside to keep them alive for a week.
You want help? Here comes help.
The world is not a perfect place. No angle is 90 degrees exactly, no wall is 100% clean, no light is 100% white. Flourescent lights should be a very light yellow, dingy environs would be a dark brown, or slight green. Light and colour is everything. Red can be used to indicate danger or to convey a warning. Light greens and blues can be used to emulate outside, blue especially can be used to make somewhere look cold, such as a freezer or an ice cave.
This is a warehouse.

The lights are made up of several entities. The first is a dome model (prop_static) on the ceiling. Just below is a point_spotlight to create the light effect, and a light_spot for the light itself. Finally, to create the light expansion, i have used a light entity, about halfway between the model and the floor.
Bunkers are dirty and grimy. Stains on the walls can be used to simulate water leaks, little reminders of life can be placed to show that people lived there. A coffee mug on a table, a stain on the floor, a gnome in a garden, small things that indicate that people, real people, lived and worked there.
Of course, somewhere that has been built and then left to rot would not nesseceraly have these touches. However, doorframes might have been bricked up. Look at the small things around you. You will see reminders of the 2nd world war all around you in England. Abandoned pillboxes, detonation points under bridges, a train platform no longer used, even street names that make no sense with the features around them. The underground is a good example of hidden places. There are stations on the underground that have been bricked up and left to rot. You can check some of them out at http://www.silentuk.com/
If you are really unsure...look, i have tutorials at my youtube, and possibly a few sneak videos of non source stuff i am working on.

Wow. Amazing. The entire content of that text was literally "I AM SO FUCKING GReAT I CAN DO SO FUCKING MUCH ERUUUU LOOK AT MY WEBSITES I AM SO AMAZING WOOH WOAH YEAH LOOK AT MY MAPS YEAH"
You still come off as an elitist. vile sociopath. Your overall lack of emotion and lack of empathy and borderline narcissistic behavior is just. Just wrong. Really. Your posts make me worry that someone like you is allowed to breed, Let alone vote.
Also. It's funny how you give me "Help" when said help is about the LOOk of things. not how to USE hammer. Very helpful! I'm sure to use that to make the best map ever!

This is again, Senseless masturbation of your ego.

"I KNOW AN OBSCURE BIT OF HISTORY! I'M GONNA USE THIS AS AN EXAMPLE TO SAY THAT YOU'RE RETARDED!"
That's what you're saying.

So you not only attempted to "troll" me. But you also admit it?
No offence intended DoctorSalvador, but a small flamewar always manages to kick off when you post in this section.
I detect massive amounts of butthurt.
Salvador, you can't just leave things can you? you need to retaliate, why?
Also, those websites aren't mine, not all of them. The blog and youtube are mine, the others are sites i use to do research from. I love silentuk, it's a shame the guy got arrested in the end, although i guess the stunts he was pulling were getting pretty dangerous.
I have never said you are retarded, but that you are unimaginative.
Learning to use hammer is possibly about 10% of the process. Making something look good is the tough part, and making something original is very very hard.
I guessed you might rise to a small comment, i hoped you wouldn't, but there was a strong possibility that you would.
Can national pride be a product of an ego?
It looks very empty, and there are lots of light blobs. It doesn't seem to have a general theme.
I couldn't work out the light blobs thing. None of my lights are causing glare on the floors/walls/ceiling, and the only blobs are caused by env_sprite.
