How about portal textures instead, they are all white n' shiny.

Wasen't DEV created by Valve? Its not really a Custom texture... Atleast from what iv'e heard.
The Color'd DEV Is Custom.. but not the orange and gray.

Your right, They won't make one little difference (Unless I added cubemaps, which I might...).
Oh, and if you do end up making each course in the same map. You might want that VisBlock... Forgot the name.. I think its that... But it prevents clients from loading things in the map that they dont even see. It helps for the slower pc's

If you need any help with this next map (layout, texturing, ideas, code, bugfixing, actually mapping) AT ALL add me on Steam Friends. I've been meaning to do something like this for a while, and I've got a LOT of stuff that can go into this but still fit with the theme (I've got tons of colors that I can use for dev retexes and ideas for level flow, like splattered red paint on some buildings). Plus I think I can figure out how to make textures fade to other textures, I had that problem when I redid puz_rooftop.

I loved Mirror's Edge, and I love this map...
I may be able to get some original textures from mirrors edge as a rip while playing on the highest setting.. I wouldn't mind giving them to you so you can add a LOT of detail and basically make it a mirror's edge map for gmod..

If you mean taking screenshots, don't.
This is a longshot, but do you think that you could add an NPC helicopter that comes out once you get pass through a trigger, you run through a few important city parts while under fire, there could be some upbeat HL2 music, and it dissapears again once you get to another trigger inside a room.
Would add some pretty cool action in your map.

For a idea on V2 you could make a section where you have to jump off a really tall building into the sea(seeing as it is in the dock)

I thought of putting a helicopter in V1 but I ended up getting rid of it because it kept killing me really easily:( But I might try a helicopter in V2, it's just I'm not very good with waypoints, and it might make the map really laggy. I will try though...

Well I'm trying to make the map realistic and in reality if you jump off a high building into water, it would be just like hitting concrete x_x Thanks for the idea though:D

Google "Pakrat". It's a kick arse prog that packs your Materials/Textures/sounds into the actual BSP so no need for extra folders.
Takes a little getting use to but once things run smooth it works wonders. As a Server Admin it's much easier just to forcedownload the BSP alone with everything in it
The downside is unless you watch what you add the BSP can end up massive in Mb's
