You know how kickass this would be in zombie survival, if you put human spawn at one end and zombie spawn int he center and let them go... It's start off extremely slow, but after zombies outnumber humans...can you imagine the chaos?

I haven't gotten around to noding the map yet, so I can't say how well the zombies would work. Would be hella fun though.
I just finished up a new version of the map.

-Added a facade to the outer wall to make it indistinguishable from the inner walls.
-No more waiting in the spawn room, the walls now randomize within the first 5 seconds
-Added a second button to the upper catwalk that completely lowers all the walls, and added a timer so the buttons can only be used once every 60 seconds.
I also added AI nodes, but they're still kinda dodgy with all the moving walls.

I wanted to make it look a lot better, but you can't really get good dramatic lighting and shadows when all your walls and ceiling are brush entities.
Also, I considered having all the walls move upwards, then having the second floor use them, but I decided it was complicating things a bit too much. Besides, this way all the walls that are open get culled under the floor, which is great for performance.

I had an idea to make the ai nodes slightly less dodgy.
Ad BLOCKLOS brushes parented to the wall panels.
That should make it so the ai roams around, but doesn't try to walk through a wall.
also just adding 1 node in each square should do fine (if thats not already what you've done.)
Again, if you havent, add an npc clip as a roof on the maze.
I want to be able to throw manhacks into the maze and have them come after me by the maze, not by going up then coming down

I know it would be tough to make it light well with this many dynamic brushes. Maybe it would work better in idtech or UE, where the lighting is all dynamic.
As for the 3D, I was thinking to just disable the brushes instead of sliding them, and have floor/ceiling pieces that toggle on and off as well, so you would have to go through multiple floors to find the end.
Except that would be confusing as hell.

I'd like to do that, but I'm pretty much at source's limits for entities right now. I don't know if it could handle over 600 extra entities like that.
it won't let me play :( it says the file doesn't exist. i put it in maps right?

Okay, lesson learnt. Don't put a period into your map's name. Just remove the period in "V1.1" and replace it with an underscore and it should work. I'm reuploading the file to fix that too.

Here's some comments.
The map is fun. For the first 20 mins. It really gets boring because it is just a giant maze. You should look into a bit of something to spice it up with.
The more people in it make it funner though.

You should put a roof on top of it, makes it even harder cause you can't see which direction your heading for.

I'm not sure what you mean. There already is a roof on the maze part, it's just 1 way so you can look through it from above, but not below.

Now make it dark and have a zombie spawned randomly in the map from the start
