yea, seeing how so many people are hard up for portal to buy a 'used' steam account.
I don't see you coming up with any brilliant ideas.
The only baddest thing is, that the SourceSDK is not coming with it.
I have looked under Tools but there is not a entry for it.
Anyone knows why?

Do you Own any source game? If you don't, you wont get it.

Portal is a source game
Portal is a source game
Yes, but he didn't buy it, therefore he doesn't have the SDK, which is what I was saying. Hence the 'Own'
And Intel and SiS users don't deserve Portal anyways.
but matrox users do
Thats so .... with the SourceSDK -.-
Btw SiS and Intel-Users:
I have a Intel Mobile 945GM Express Chipset and Portal works a bit fine.
Only the Walls and the ground are overlighted (soooo white and light).
And thats with mat_dxlevel 90! When i put the mat_dxlevel on 70, the
Game looks normal (not overlighted) but when i make a Portal the Game
starts to crash. So atm i use mat_dxlevel 90.
No its not. Buy the game if you like it. Valve aren't going to give you level design tools for a few days, and take it back from you when a free deal is over.
No. Their not.
Once you installed the game to your steam account it will be there forever, you get it for free. It told me it installed a free license
No. Their not.
hey can some one say me how to copy the textures from portal to css or hl2 ?? i want to work whit the portal textures in css but i can't find it ???
The game is free but that doesn't mean everything is in the public domain. It just means you can play it for free.
On the other hand nobody gives or has ever given a fucking shit anyway and I don't think valve do either.
-snippy snip-
dude i have buy me the game a year ago and in the moment who everyone has the fucking game i want to know how can i use the textures of them in a other game
First off, did anybody watch Valve's free portal campaign video? It pretty much states that on May 24th, Portal 2 is coming out, and this is a ploy so people can improve their skills before it. Here's a linker.

Agree'd, portal and its design tools will be limited for use, then after a certain date there gone.
Okay, let's assume I want to buy Portal but not as OrangeBox or over Steam:
Can i buy it seperately?
You have to buy it over steam, otherwise you're a pirate.
I mean it so: Can i buy it in a store seperately and not as a Orange Box?
You know? (Like to buy over Steam but in a RL-Store).
EDIT//
Okay, i've found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_(video_game)
and theres a DVD-Case. So i musnt buy the game over steam, i can buy it in a store
near me. Question answered.
Why would you want to buy Portal at all? It's free. If you want it for the SDK then I'd just get the whole Orange Box. It's quite cheap nowadays.

However, the game will be installed via steam, and it will require steam to run. So i'm not sure what the point of buying it via a store is?
Good thing I have 4 other Steam accounts with only HL2DM(They are spares)

Cause if you buy a physical copy you can install it and play much faster than a download. More convenient if you're near a store selling it.

Personally, it takes me quicker to download it then to run to the store, or drive there and use gas. However, I know a couple of people who live somewhere far away, and can't really do that.

I'm stupid.
