Nevermind. Accidental post
Hey guys, I'm going to throw whoever wants to use this idea a bone - it's an extreme city idea; A favela like city, underground. A massive underground area with a hole above casting light down on the city. A waterfall falls from that hole. A temple is on the highest point of the underground city, with the waterfall directly behind it. Rivers flow through this city. The brigher an area, the more glamorous-a building. Primitive train-like monorail systems go along the rock-wall of the area with the rail attached to the wall sticking out.
I've got my first screens up; it's London after a post apocalyptic solar flare/earthquake/volcano thing [thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/trlechippers_extreme0001.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/trlechippers_extreme0002.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/trlechippers_extreme0003.jpg[/thumb]
I just realized we're both doing London. Though mine is set just a bit in the non-post apocalyptic future.

The battersea power station has been used for far more than one pink floyd album. Maggie Thatcher at one point tried to turn it into a theme park.

I was thinking the same.
That factory picture looks alot like a power plant from the first red alert on the russian side O.o
Quite a few European and older eastern-US plants look like that. I saw an identical one in Baltimore. Not sure why the design was so favourable, is anyone good with architecture history able to provide some insight on that?

The idea was that it was deisgned to be built in two stages. The first turbine hall runs between the two chimmneys furthest apart. In the case of battersea, it is a 1930's construction, with the second turbine hall built after the second world war. Presumably it was a favorable design, the idea that you could built one half and have it delievering power as you build the second. What it looked like in 1934
