Why thank you! Would be awesome to have a tutorial on how to optimize your maps, how to make people like them, etc.
Do you think you could make a tutorial on all the displacement tools? There's so many, and I usually just use subdivide.
how about a tutorial for cinematic physics.
(ep1, when combines blow up/down doors)
No one mentions mine. :smith:
Could you make a video on how to make some good cliffs please?
Sweet, more tutorial suggestions will get straight to work on these as soon as home from the theatre.
Everytime I try to make a cliff it looks like shit.Would love to see a tut on that.
Yeah, will start making that tonight for you mate.

Newbie Tutorial
You should of just had your level premade, watching you make it was pretty boring, not the mention you took way to long to make that. :v:
Yeah, I had some things on my mind, it's not easy being 18 and having to juggle two jobs :v:

Well, at least I'm contributing tutorials as often as possible as well to help everybody out there, as long as my tutorials help a few people my job is done
On the showtexture entity how do you get it to show where the light is going to be? it dosent show up on mine
would there be a way to have elevator doors on the elevator you made?
There is a way you can have an elevator door, it's easier to use the half life 2 elevator model and parent it's doors to it and play the open animation when at a floor.
The rain tutorial is cool. Unfortunately I tried making rain before this as out... Just a quick tip for people who don't know things, or anyone trying to make rain, but having it not show up for some reason. Make sure the Trigger brush you tied to the rain isn't colliding with ANY OTHER BRUSHES.
I did that and didn't realize it. It was no end to frustration until I found out, so go check that first if your rain isn't working.
Also a cliff tutorial might be REALLY helpful... I've never successfully made one. Really steep cliffs that is.
Can you make a tutorial for a thick snowstorm
Can you make a tutorial for a thick snowstorm
Add windy sound effects with a env_soundscape. There are windy ones on the list (checkthe dev wiki and search soundscapes). Then just use the rain tutorial set to snowfall (not the snow setting since that's just like rain) and set the snow to 100% density. That isn't enough though, so copy the func_precipitation that's snowing, and place it on top of the previous func_precipitation to get double the snowfall in that area.
Taa-daa, snowstorm. Don't know if you can angle the snow slaty-ways to get it looking like it's blowing though...
Are you ever going to make that cliffs tutorial?
Are you ever going to make that cliffs tutorial?
He' got stuff. You know... Stuff. :colbert:
Very nice tutorials. Do you think you could release, say, a ten minute one showing how to make a small but nice, detailed SP map? Would be excellent.

Make tutorials for;
Track switches (a really simple one, a button that makes one track go down and the other go up, and vice versa, so I can just make a 90 degree arch and do a couple of other parts, and bam track switch)
Base doors (how to make two brushes slide in opposite directions)

I thought that he changed his opinion.

Aren't there already tutorials on those? Maybe you like his better... I think there are some tutorials on cliffs to, but I like his better and couldn't get the other cliff tutorials to work for me...
Indeed there are tutorial on those, but they're really hard to find and other people are never online or are just lazy.
Is that Coldplay on your last one? I love them.
That was coldplay my friend, yes guys I have been swamped with work recently and I'm currently visiting my mother as I haven't seen her in 6 months due to family "issues" but as soon as I'm back home I'll start on making these tutorials for you guys.
Could there be a tutorial explaining AI relationships like with the Metrocops at the beginning of HL-2?
I've just noticed the relationship between mappers and this 3kphillipwhatever man. What did he do wrong?
Nice tuts.
:smith: You just noticed?
