Hes also a troll and a general dick to everyone thats not him. His ego is so inflated from the inexperienced mappers. Also, they are the wrong way of doing things.
Some pretty nice tutorials, most stuff I already knew. Are there any good advanced displacement subdivision tutorials?
Finally, back from my Mum's, there are some good tutorials about displacements over at interlopers.net I think, expect new tutorials up soon, now going to start working on them.

They have tutorials on fog over at Interlopers.net mate, will work on a video version as well, I will also start a cliffs one later on today, just re-installed windows as it went a little, shit, considering moving over to the linux enviroment.
I recommend a detail sprite tutorial and spawning props with point_template (for deathrun purposes like crushing players).
point_template prop spawning is an easy one, will get to work on that ASAP

When I do the soda machine one when the map compiles and starts... There is no machine to begin with! It's gone! It's in Hammer, but not in game... Help?
What prop type are you using, I too had a problem like that, prop_static and prop_dynamic didn't work for me so I made it a prop_physics and set it motion disabled.

Sort of related question to that last tutorial; if I was to create a map where you needed to pick up a key card and take it to a door where a custom animation would play, unlocking the door, would I have to use a math_counter to make the picking up of the card allow the animation to run or is there another entity/output I could use? Thanks in advance. [editline]10:29PM[/editline] Just to clarify, I wouldn't want the player to pick it up and carry it over using "e", but just press "e" on it, making it disappear as though the player had put it in his pocket or something.
Make the door a prop_dynamic and if the keycard is a func_physbox or a custom model using prop_physics, put an output named OnPlayerUse or OnPlayerPickup instead of using a trigger brush to drag the keycard into. The outputs are the exact same, just using a different method. Hope this helps!
