Oh. I didn't know that they were talking about half-life.
Not regarding my last posts, I hope In$ane updates us soon with like completion percentages.
Same.
However,if you grant someone a lot of time,he can make a nice map,
Look at the creators of HALO 1 and 2,2 took them long (same for HALO3)
But what they deliver,is verry nice.
Hey this map look really good!
Has there been any progress into this?
By the looks of it, no.
By the looks of it, no.
But i'm looking at the map. Yes.
Progress speed is going a bit up and down. I don't have all day to map right now. But I will hopefully when i am going to my dad the 6th. =)
Man,i can't wait for this map. Take your time Insane,no need to rush.
So, what percentage do you think you are at with completing the map in$ane?

Don't forget about hl2!
Well this map certainly doesn't seem dead, but any E.T.A on the map in$ane?
Been a while since I checked this thread... How's the progress?
Some buildings or afew small towns would be cool.
Make it look a bit like The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

The question would be how? A massive map can't be highly detailed unless you like moving at 5 FPS (I maybe wrong and there maybe a mapping technique to reduce lag due to map size).
A better question is how like oblivion? Oblivion has an enormous amount going for it, so much good, so little bad, in other words, might want to be more specific.
This map would be well used in a mod that uses RTS style elements! It's perfect...

Area portals, hints, window portals and using buildings to hide each other ;)
Jurassic park...
Occluders if needed to.
That too ;)

The only issue I have with massive maps is that there's a limit to how much you can put in before it won't compile.
How long does it take to compile Insane?

And that was the mapping technique I spoke of to keep massive maps moving at more then 5 fps.

This map is mostly going to be terrain. You can easily build what you want in the map once it's out.
Come on people post! Laugh, learn, and applaud at In$ane's greatness!
Hmpf! I want this! Now! :D
Thank you Hellst0ne for keeping the thread alive! Too bad you can't bump a thread with an edit!:(

That is exactly what i´m doing. Because this looks awesome! And I want updates! :)
Pssst. In$ane. What's the progress? Don't worry, if you tell me I'll keep it a secret. From at least 1 person at the forums.
Can ya give us a progress report?
A town perhaps?
This map is too big to impliment a town because of lag. If when playing on it, you want to make a town then go for it.
Ooo, I can't wait.
