i'm still waiting on this map...
Ya. This is a fantastic map that should be released if he doesn't continue to work on it.
I agree, even if you get sick of it, you should release it anyway so we can complete it, with your consent of course.
I atleast wish he would reply to this thread :|
Give up, dead is dead. Another Stole-time-in-my-live-to-follow-for-shit Map-Thread. Thaaaank you!
Next time you want to whine like a baby, maybe you should do it in the general forums, instead of posting something that was in and of itself a waste of time. I was wondering about this a while ago: Would anyone want to start a COMMUNITY MAP based on some sort of combine/alien architecture along these lines? It would include a city part and a general alien landscape part... I know that the words community map is a dirty phrase around here- one almost synonymous with the phrase indefinite WIP project, but still, I think it could be cool. Just a suggestion, I would not be able to work on it myself until my current project is DONE.
Don't bother with community maps. They nearly never get finished and, on the rare occasion that they do get released, I assume they would have shitloads of bugs, optimisation problems, horrible brushwork and bad texturing. In the mapping world the only way to get things done right is to get them done yourself. Or send the .vmf to Chris, Jlea or Spacew00t, but I doubt those guys have time.
i am talking to him on MSN now, it's not dead!!! just held off.
Woo. Way to go.
i am talking to him on MSN now, it's not dead!!! just held off.
Why should I believe you? :v:
If your on MSN with him tell him to post that the map is still alive! And don't just say he said he was too busy because I've seen him post in countless unimportant threads.
I've chatted with him on MSN a week or so ago. I can't really say any more because I promised him I wouldn't.
I've chatted with him on MSN a week or so ago. I can't really say any more because I promised him I wouldn't.
Obviously he's still working on it then.
I've chatted with him on MSN a week or so ago. I can't really say any more because I promised him I wouldn't.
It's a surprise. :q:
It's a surprise. :q:
He's going to SURPRISE us a week from now saying that he has given up on it and deleted it out of frustration!! Hehe. But seriously, I wonder what sort of buildings he's going to put in if any at all... would seem like this map would be fun with a few, especially in the style of the rest of the map. Also: Can you ask him the name of the music he used in his Youtube video?
I would much rather hear from In$ane that the map isnt dead, but at least the "chat with him on MSN" gives me a bit of hope.
I would much rather hear from In$ane that the map isnt dead, but at least the "chat with him on MSN" gives me a bit of hope.
Even one simple post in this thread saying "Not dead" would do me.
Not dead... He might have just forgotten and after dudes chatted to him on MSN he claimed that he was still working on but he hadn't so now he will finish it at Super-speed! Hooray!
I would love to play this in Stranded.
you need zombies.
Someone should start a map and just send it on to the next person to edit and create their little peice. Idea (Probs. been done)?
Someone should start a map and just send it on to the next person to edit and create their little peice. Idea (Probs. been done)?
Teamwork maps always fail, peoples mapping styles and experiance differ too much.
Don't let this die In$ane, it was a great concept, you've got a great start. Now you just need to finish it. It would be a waste of your time if you simply abandoned this project.
Uncompleted projects are never a waste of time. You always learn something, and you'll most likely see it in another map in the near future.
To be honest could'nt any mapper who has at least some knowledge of displacements easily just recreate this map.. the only really hard thing is getting hold of good textures.. which in my opinion can be remade in paint? it's bright green... Not that i'm going to try. But i'm sure one of you mappers out there could.
When was the last time In$ane was online?
When was the last time In$ane was online?
16 hours ago, to be exact.
I am more or less curious as to why he avoids the mapping section like a plague.
He must be hiding something.
Haha, he's going to have a surprise party. And then BOOM, he throw a finished version of this map in our faces.
