Looks great so far, can't wait for the release.
This map is going to be based off of MMORPG's like WoW where the world has a cartoon look if I am correct...
Could you take a picture of the main area of the map with a huge smokestack plopped down in the middle? That'll give us a good idea of the size.
Use some Episode 1 trees like in gm_robbinsvalley.
It's cool watching the map come together.

If you have the time (all the time) I think you should make it like a tiny rp mod with sweps that appear as you kill enemies.
The Map is looking good In$ane! I can't wait for the release and/or more screenshots! I also think some sweps would be good. Maybe swords and such... Or Maybe not :)

I will play this map until my eyeballs fall from their sockets! YOU sir are a genius. :) Are custom SWEPS hard to make? I was thinking you could have the crowbar with a sword skin, and the crossbow with a... crossbow skin(wooden stock and replace the re-bar with bolts) It would also be uber cool if chunks of rock spewed from the volcano, making it harder to get up the path.

First of all, I think this map is finished at the time HL3 is announced.. Secondly, an average computer isn't able to run this map decently. Good idea though.
HL3 will never be made, only HL2: Episode2 ect.
I am not very good with programming and making my own content but would it be possible if you could make trees that could be destroyed like in crysis.
Fun fact: Gabe Newell said in an interveiw The Half-life 2: Episodes were essentally HL3. He also stated they should have called them Half life 3: Episodes. other than that, I can't wait till the next media update!

It looks really really good! when you're done with all making hills and such, download some "tree packs". There's not any tropical trees or anything like that in hl2

Just make a tree in hammer out of brushes and make it a func_physbox. Give it a health of say 150. Compile. You, sir, Now have a breakable tree.

You, sir, Now have a breakable tree.[/QUOTE] Yes, but it wouldn't exactly fall apart whilst being shot only break into pieces, the entire tree would simply break after taking the specified amount of damage. Unless perhaps, I misunderstood what you meant and that you actualy meant consruct it of many seperate func_physbox(s).
Could you try to make maybe a town or something? People? I know it would be hard and you don't need to do it, but I think it would be kind of cool.
this map will definently be [b]EPIC[/b] and definently worth the wait. I don't care how long it takes to release, the better the job the better the performance and the map! Is it possible to make some kind of opposite universe or world, or am I just going too far out there with that idea? And what about transportation? Will there be a way teleport or vehicles to get around such a large map?
This looks amazing! I suggest that you make a secret lab inside the volcano where you can controll if the volcano explodes.
