Quick mockup for a game I'm working on. Forgot the grass sprites! Which do you prefer?
In my opinion, the CC makes everything more flat and boring, wheras the ominous glow at the end of the corridor provides some colour which really shines through the flat grey-ness. It just feels more menacing with the fiery light lurking in the end. Idk if that's what you're going for, though. Sorry for the late reply.
Made me think of a furnace. I liked it. Maybe have an increasingly loud buzzing or humming sound coming from near the door to really instill that sense of impending something.
New truss work.. just playing around with arrangements.
Could've sworn there was a texture pimpage thread. Click for original UK US Already have a bunch for rest-of-Europe but need to update them, and eventually Japan but for now fuck that
there ya go http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1281063&highlight=texture
didn't take long for that one to die
I don't have a proper helm chair, if someone is willing to model one for me please contact me. I'll give you reference pictures and I'd be willing to pay you up to 20 dollars if you do this for me. also critique please
Your textures look awfully low res. Ceiling. The texture on the beams across the roof looks odd aswell. The lightmaps are also kinda low res, would benefit from sharper shadows.
I don't have a proper helm chair, if someone is willing to model one for me please contact me. Other then that maybe add some junk to those side tables?
All of them, or are there ones you are talking to in particular?
Looks like you got a cubemap problem of some sort there in the middle. Other then that maybe add some junk to those side tables?
yes, I'll resolve the cubemap problem when I am near release. noted on your suggestion for the tables. ignoring the cube map problem, is this better? Are there any "low-res" textures here?
Those chairs are levitating.
Yeah, I know. I mentioned earlier I don't have proper helm chairs, I've been looking for someone to model me a proper one for some time.
Yeah, I know. I mentioned earlier I don't have proper helm chairs, I've been looking for someone to model me a propper one for some time.
I read that at first, died a little out of laughter, then realized the truth of the situation. Le' sigh. edit: But yeah, it looks good n' shit.
I have finished porting all of the static props in the room, now to port the physics props. On a side note, should I also port the stairs outside of the apartment? screenshots of my galley, it shares the same color scheme as the bridge. Critique please, ignore the cubemap issue.
screenshots of my galley, it shares the same color scheme as the bridge. Critique please, ignore the cubemap issue.
Looks like you might want to lower the lightmap scale on the ceiling in the last screenshot, unless you already have super-detailed lightmaps on other places and lowering that one will cause issues

What if you made sliding doors that went inside the windows, and when you use them they just slide up into the wall, like an airplanes windows? [t]http://i39.tinypic.com/2qw2zpu.jpg[/t]

Can I get those sunblind models somewhere, or they are private?
I have finished porting all of the static props in the room, now to port the physics props. On a side note, should I also port the stairs outside of the apartment?
I think you should, that way, let's say someone wanted to make a video starting with someone going in the apartment, they could.
Can I get those sunblind models somewhere, or they are private?
they're just textures from Mr.TopHatWaffle's real-world textures #2
Can I get those sunblind models somewhere, or they are private?
BMS has sunblind models if you want some.
They are kind of big though (at least the animated one) and are more meant for full-length windows that go all the way down to the floor.
Mappers, I had a weird dream last night. I had created a small multi floored modern home with a pretty yard out back, in Hammer. Looking in the 2D views (covering my entire vision, there was no visible desktop or screen), I could see the house's residents moving around and greeting each other in wireframe. Outside the boundaries of the map I saw other wireframe figures, slowly crawling toward the walls of the yard, then running in causing screams and yelling. I switched to the 3D view, everything was chaos. After deleting all the quickly moving objects carefully, I looked in the yard and something didn't seem right. Looking around one of the benches I saw an anomaly in the realtime reflection in the ground (it had been raining, it's something I've been playing around with) - a world portal! I closed it but was never able to get the bench back on-grid. I suppose the moral of the story is that after crazy shit, you can never really get back on-grid or something, I guess.

Sooner or later, due to the constant repetitive use, you end up dreaming about your project. And they are always weird as hell.

Cheers :)

If Hammer crashes in your dream, you could die in your sleep (and there won't be an autosave).
Does anyone have an issue with the episode 2 particle editor that the previewer won't show the green channel? For some reason my orange is turning red, my turqoise a pale blue , and green as nothing.
They are actually good for driving trucks busses etc through (I made one with a trailer of a 3x16 plate to test etc). Yes you will need to use the uncoming side of the road with a very big vehicle but thats common in real life too. I don't think it will become an issue when playing. You are right though, but I doubt I will have enough room for it. Thanks
Liking what you have going on there. You too, Oskutin. N-no I am not here for the t...trains...s-shut up :<
