Here's a heavy WIP of some room inside a spaceship/spacestation, which was inspired by those dark control rooms where some of the lightsaber fight scenes took place in Star Wars. [t]http://i.imgur.com/fwyMT0v.jpg[/t] I'm not very satisfied by this. This scene just looks so bland and amateur for whatever reason. It might just be the lighting, which didn't turn out looking as good as I imagined it to be, the brushwork, the use of the same old HL2 textures, or all of the above actually. Also, I didn't want to bother trying to look for a fitting space skybox, so I'm just going to stick with the black texture for the sky for now.

If you're going to make anything, look at references. Try and make the arch under the bridge something like this. Another thing, be sure to type bot_kick into console to clear all of the bots on the map. Also cl_drawhud 0 and impulse 200 for screenshots.

Italy maps set in the day are a dime a dozen from what I've seen so far and I suppose a little variety would be neat.

I think a coastal italy map would look nice. lots of stairs and stuff.

Try lower fog density and set a more fancy color

Firegod's made some nice skyboxes with included fog settings, I can grab a link if you're willing to do it.

I'm pretty sure you can change the fog color settings in-game, but you would have to change them again manually in Hammer.

Is there any website i can find some very good study on the design of portal 2 maps? I am someone very visual and need to see picture to understand the design. I am currently working for Bts, Clean and underground. For now i download community's map like "The lone Future Starter" map 1 and 2 or look at Lamarr's design. Ofc i also check out some officials map but i would like to have advanced information on the design. Thanks for help
