As always, look in fullscreen or get a new monitor or something.

Just because you might be able to see more with your monitor, doesn't mean you should make a map with subtle light. Music producers have equipment that can reproduce some very low and high sound frequencies, but they don't utilize the range very much because they know people will be listening to their music with earbuds or in their car.

Yeah i know, but i can't really test it, since i have no shitty monitors.
Even my old 2nd monitor from 2006 works fine.

It's usually from people improperly calibrating their monitors. I have a mediocre TN monitor that I can see almost everything just fine.

Ugh. Ever heard of the loudness wars?
Basically all the shitty audio hardware out there (combined with the mass-hysteria on things needing to be stupid loud) has caused audio quality to decline since 1990s~.

Long time when I posted on this trade, here some work I was doing.

Tower map for cs:go in Tokyo.

The blue texture on those pillars bring way to much attention to the lower half, but not enough to the upper half which blends into the other walls. Try making the pillars either all blue or all white, andf perhaps throw up a poster or some graffiti or pictures on those big ol' blank walls you have there.
Don't get me wrong the rest of the screenies make the map look FABULOUS, it's just that last one that sticks out.

This screenshot reminds me of that one huge neighborhood map with the mountains that someone by the name of jazz-something was working on before he gave up on it due to lighting issues or whatever.
God, I miss that.
Been working on that 1950s L4D2 campaign thing

To make your floor texture align better try this method. It's a pain to do it but it makes it look much better then trying to manually do it.

In all fairness, how often have you seen a wooden floor curve that good? (like the asphalt); it's a pain to make irl.

How big is it compared to a player? gm_big city was rather small and it was at map limits

Holy hell, that's a lot of work for such a short time interval.
When did you post those screenshots from last time? A week or so?
Wow i guess the texturing will be a lot of work for you.
Haha, I chose to "imitate" the Mirror's Edge main menu as I quite liked the style and wanted a time consuming project to keep me busy when avoiding revision.
How big is it compared to a player? gm_big city was rather small and it was at map limits
I'd say it's too small for its own good. I kept to a minimalistic theme but didn't want any buildings to be the exact same. Here's a picture to give an idea of the scale. I may scale it up later on but for now I'm keeping it small and manageable!

Thanks. I've found myself with some spare time for the past week and a half so I needed to find something to focus in on. I guess choosing simple flat textures saved me a hell of a lot of time.
Also, I need a grand skyscraper to go here but I'm pretty much out of ideas. Any suggestions?
(please don't make the architecture too complex -- I'm still a noob to hammer)

WIP, my first REAL map.
Give constructive criticism, e.g. badly placed vines, overabundance of foliage. Also, I know that pine trees don't really go together with the plants in those planter things.
The towers could be thicker, they seem a little thin and not structurally sound. Other than that I love it.

Careful not to post that in other parts of the forum or else people will accuse you of being a Zionist. :v:
Messing around with the architecture. Making some lighting test

I tried to do something similar once but it didn't look as good as that. Is the blue atmosphere part of the model? I'll nitpick by saying maybe it'll look more realistic if the stars weren't there as you don't normally see them in daytime where the sun is shining.

That's very eyecatching. The two towers look like they need something above the windows though. The vines look almost fine to so I think you'll only need to remove one or two. Will there be an interior?

Neat. What is it for and what is the backstory?
