i think he's onto me now but he CAN'T HINDER MY PROGRESS
[t]http://i.imgur.com/qyB4ngD.jpg[/t] I just remembered there's an arch tool :v: How wide should freeways be?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/qyB4ngD.jpg[/t] I just remembered there's an arch tool :v: How wide should freeways be?
free ways are usually four to three lanes
free ways are usually four to three lanes
oh right we have a different interpretation over here but like.. roads that are outside towns but not freeways then
out of town main roads are the same while a side road would be 1.5 lanes
yes but how wide in units should roads be? :v: making sharp turns is quite hard with source cars
yes but how wide in units should roads be? :v: making sharp turns is quite hard with source cars
I like 384 for 2-lane but this is preference
[t]http://i.imgur.com/DEX2o5Q.jpg[/t] new road size works a lot better, need to swamp this place with light
Remember that huge ass Onett map? I redid the skybox this week-end Lots of trees. Lots, lots, lots of trees. I took one of the TF2 pine trees and scattered it in 3ds Max along a plane, made a variation that looks like a hill, etc. and pretty much spammed it everywhere. There's like 6 million vertices added from all the trees now, but it's a movie map so I don't care :v:
Well the textures are free to use for non commercial projects, they have a timer on their site but bypassing that isn't illegal; you're still getting it from them. It's like if a developer uploaded a fully working version of their game to their webserver and someone found it from snooping and didn't buy the game because that version was free and worked exactly the same, it's not piracy...
Well, if that's the case then never mind. However, I'm not so keen on helping him out now seeing as he's being a bit of an ass about it.
Are those mountains models?

I imagine a sunset version of this would look pretty damn sweet.

I personally would have used the wood floor you had, maybe with concrete or a area rug. Look at the reference images in the first link I sent, that should give you a good sense of the materials used in a room like that.
Video?
I have a gif Just note this is just a small scale test, it will look much better at a larger scale over a huge body of water.
Yeah, it's a model I made a while ago
That's awesome, I love it
The funny looking garage?
Close enough. It's the laundry/storage room. Based off of another family member's basement in real life.

Is this possible to accomplish in gmod?
This is in CS:GO correct? Is this possible to accomplish in gmod?
I don't think so. You could probably have the model run a looping animation, but you won't be able to use the tree-sway shader in Gmod since that's only for the CSGO engine.

Yeah, an animated normal map for the water would probably make it look more natural. Although, it probably wouldn't matter since the water as it is now will look better on a larger scale, as you said.

The video Rush_Freak posted was done in TF2. Anyway wouldn't hurt to try I suppose.
Yea, but the part where he tried to get the bumpmap to work on the tree, it broke the animation, not sure if there's a way to work around that.

Definitely an interesting way of tackling water.
Messing around with Portal 2
That's some good messing around, dude. When I mess around I end up making a block with some exits and forget about it.
