The fog is a bit irritating, but I love the lighting and scale your map has!

The map was not finished at all so i didn't make triggers for fog color change. The blue one was for the big magazine with water ( screens 5,6 and 7).
I feel like the fog would have been more suitable if it faded into that over a longer distance.

Yeah. Back then i didn't know PS so i needed to do this in Paint.Net LOL:rolleyes:
Hell I still make my textures in gimp and produce the specularity levels and normalmaps using crazybump. :v:
Phfft I could probably make a decent looking texture in ms paint
I asked because I actually quite like them and they pretty much look better than the diffuse layer of some textures I just recently made. :v:

You should tone down the brightness on everything. It seems super bright.

First 3 remind me of the training area in System Shock 2 but a bit brighter. Can't wait to see what this turns into. Any chance of you changing the model of the gravity? Doesn't really fit your theme well it looks like.
Well I'm not working on this map right now. It's one of my old map for gravity gunville contest. I found it recently on my hdd so I though I can submit this screens somewhere :)
The key of this "ultra" bright environment is HDR. It's take a while to "normalize".
I will be putting a monorail onto my map, I may be thinking about making a small abandoned airfield accompanied by a derelict airport hub and hangars but I don't know if I will be putting any plane models in, could take up unnecessary resources and people could make their own.
Here are a couple of images showing an extension from what will be the lobby to the monorail service which probably takes the player to the rest of the map.

I been real busy with other things so it's gonna be a while as I will be getting more prefabs done before I deem the map worthy of being released.

So my hard drive randomly formatted itself (very long story) and I lost most of my above surface work so I had to start over... Heres what it looked like before the spontaneous hard drive format:

Seriously though, I dont really plan on making this a public release. Its just for practising mapping more than anything and to kill bordom.
I wouldn't mind another rp_downtown if it were in the same kind of concept as v2 except meticulously built to be aesthetically pleasing.

Yeah, V2 was a really good map in its day (at least in my opinion)
I always have great difficulty texturing a map, I'd much rather leave everything in its devtextured state. It looks so much neater and means everything I make is tinged with a bitter "This would look better with reflectivity stamps on it". Boo.
Yeah I agree, I hate v4c, so badly made. V2 is perfect and that's what I hope the outcome is of my map wether I release it or not.

To be honest,it'd be nice to see another rp map get really popular. I seems like the only choice to actually get players on your server now days is rp_downtown_v4c :suicide: .

A server I played on used to run rp_headattackcity. It was changed back to Downtown because:

Which might I tell you were UN-breakable windows.
If it ain't Downtown or a Downtown remix, the map usually doesn't get far.

Yup, very true. Im getting sick of v4c, I might change back to v2 but im worried about losing my players as a result. Id do v2_fiend but I have heard there was a crashing problem (which I once experienced with 2 or 3 people who tried to join)
