Oh, also, going back to the cylindrical hallways thing (sorry to keep bringing it up) - four subdivided brushes make really nice cylinders, although there's usually a seam you'll need to hide. Still smoother than 8- or 16-sided arches or cylinders.
I'm interested to know more about these kind of programs / plugins, because i always made my materials from scratch using paint.net.... took me like 6 hours to make a nice looking Smooth metal lol
The full version of DDO is now free since Quixel is releasing Quixel Suite, I HIGHLY recommend looking it up.

Quite liking the improvement. I´ve come quite far.
the previous version of dDo is free, just click the text link next to the preorder button. It requires Adobe Photoshop CS3 or higher though (I think). If your a college student you can get CS6 really cheap like I did.
EDIT:

For $50 you can get a hobbyist/freelance license which includes DDO, 3DO and the MEGASCANS starter kit. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me, can't wait to see the pricing on the megascans once it leaves beta.

The torus tool is used for this:

That tool confuses the hell out of me :I
the only issue with the torus tool is that like everything else in hammer 3.5, it puts vertices off grid.
it's such a pain in the dick because in hammer 3.4 and before, all you had to do to put everything back on grid was do a transform with no values. Bam, everything on grid. But now, that does nothing, and vertices are off the grid by literal miniscule values
Valve needs to come up with a map format that doesn't do this. I think the old .map format stored vertices rather than planes
This is all I could manage to do with the torus tool. it was a pain in the ass.

Yeah, the torus tool is very hard to manipulate and it's often off grid.
What I really like about UnrealED 2, or at least any of the Unreal Editors that allow the use of the 2D shape editor and such, is that you can easily create curved hallways with a profile that's not just a rectangle by making a shape in the 2D shape editor and have that shape revolve around the origin, not something you can easily do in Hammer, sadly.
Does anyone know what map file Unity uses?
.unity
What folder would they be in? They weren't in the assets :/
dDo is great if you can get a hold of Photoshop and the free Nvidia normal map plugin.
But dDo is a separated program?
But dDo is a separated program?
It is technically a seperate program, but it mounts itself to Photoshop, so it is really a plugin IMO

I didn't want to pay rent anyway.
I'm hoping to fix the lighting and find a new ground texture soon.

Unless there is something on the back wall not shown I don't see how or why that truck could be there. The garage door is far too low for the truck to fit under too.

That's for the education version only I think, full license (so you can sell/distribute your stuff) is still going to cost your $699. But hey you get on the CSGO operations and it will pay off (I think...).
I want to say that the license is good for life though.
The monthly one comes out to be like $120 for a year though (and comes with lightroom) so if you want updates that's not to bad.

That's the price of the Oculus Rift. I rather get the rift than a Painting program at this price :3

That's why Photoshop is intended for professionals where paying that much for the nicest program on the market is not unreasonable at all.
Any good custom snow textures there out perhaps?
[editline]22nd March 2014[/editline]
For CS:GO maps of course.
FP-user Yanzl made a set with some pretty nice snow textures.
You can find them here.
If you go farther back the thread there are images of them as well.
