@magman - that's an idea. Not many mobile homes I've seen have picket fences around them though. I'm not sure if it varies between states or not. I live in Florida and used to live in DC/Virginia.
@exho - I could litter the area with beer bottles. I know one trailer that's being renovated has some beer bottles around it because of the construction workers and whatnot. I could put more around the junky trailer with all the scrapped cars when I get more free time.
@thehatter - If it's possible to do custom sounds when you walk by somewhere, I could try to do that. I'm not too good with accents though. Most I can do is a Canadian accent. "Sor-ey aboat that, eh?" The lattice under the trashy trailer is something I wanna fix, though, seeing as it doesn't look, whats the word? Natural, that's what I'm looking for.
And at the advice of a good friend of mine, I put a player clip around it. I still gotta clip the rest of it so it fits around the edges, but it's a start so far. Hopefully tomorrow I can wake up early and do this before succumbing to laziness.

And as not to divert from the topic, here's the interior of the middle trailer. Sure, it may look safe, but with only one entrance and big, vulnerable windows, you're gonna want to think twice before camping out in it.

Not really a *VAST* array, but it's an array. I do some voice acting myself, and I know a few people who are pretty interesting.
If you feel like messing with textures, you could change that screen to show a car website or something rednecky. If you don't feel like it, I can try it.

I live in BC, Canada. Some of the more permanent trailer parks here have their own relatively large yards, picket fences, hedges, etc. Of course they all still possess that certain... trailer-park "charm".

That's neat. I was gonna PM you to ask if you had a skype so we can talk more about the acting, but nothing's coming up for you, so if you got one, add me (universetwisters).
I could probably do that, either that or "stormfront". I originally made the trailers for a single player thing I was working on and the trailer with the interior was going to be owned by a Neo Nazi/white power type and if I knew how to edit/make custom textures, he'd have all that crazy stuff in a heartbeat.
@magman77 - Literally the only influence on Canadian trailer parks I've had were trailer park boys, sadly enough. I should probably fit in some references to that if I get a minute.
But legit though, thanks for the support and all. It gave me the drive to add more stuff and work on the playerclip some more through this long, sweaty Florida night. Speaking of which, is it a bad thing to have a playerclip made of two different blocks like this? This happened as a result of cutting them to match up with the border near the train wreck and I'm not sure if I should fix that or keep going with what else I need to make it a map like a skybox, lighting, etc.

@xanadu - That'd be cool. I may be able to do it but my mic isn't good and I don't have much of a good southern accent, despite living in the south for most of my life, like Florida and Virginia, assuming you count the DC suburbs of it as the "south". I sure as hell don't but some people might.
Right, so I tried to get it to load in the game but my computer started fanning hard, like the fan was going all BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR like it was having a stroke. I thought it was fine, seeing as that happens most times I load a custom map (I need to get it cleaned out, hard) but it was stuck at this point as far as the loading / porting / whatever you wanna call it went. Fed up and sleepy, I gave up. I might try it again tomorrow and see how well it fares. But for now, here's some more of what I've got.

the fence looks better than the wall but honestly having a fence across the entire side kind of sucks
you need to vary the border of the map somehow, for example you could have a second row of cabins with the gaps blocked by vehicles, plants and other shit
but to be fair I don't know what the map is for, deathmatch maps and the like can get away with stuff like that
The way your train derailed looks really wierd, it looks like it was lifted of the track and placed on the side
And I would change that grass texture, there's one that would fit a lot better, its kind of greenish with grey dirt, but I don't know if it exists with gravel, but that should'nt be much of a problem if you have GCFscape

Anyone got ideas for a campaign? I want to make it like the original maps. It must be dark and cold, and have that spooky feeling. I'd preferbly make an urban environment, like No Mercy

krail9 - It's a deathmatch map, but I do know what you mean about the fence. I guess the player can use their imagination and figure out what it is. I keep thinking it's some FEMA camp or, failing that, a very very well protected trailer park.
zovox - I originally wanted grass with a black road and gravel driveways, but I'm not sure how possible that is or not. I should probably look up some tutorials and the like after I load it in the game to see how it looks. As far as the train wreck goes, it's like that because the track is up some sort of hill and the derailed part slid down the hill.

Also, I tried to load my trailer park map into CSGO and it just stopped loading at "9" or whatever the proper name for that 1...2...3...etc. number thing is. It did the same thing as last night, only it stopped loading at "7". Maybe I can try it later tonight and it can reach "10".

That looks pretty dank, but the ceiling texture looks a bit silly. Maybe if the panels were larger and varied less?

Well damn, every time I go to load my trailer park map, you don't move. You can look about, shoot, but not walk around. Does anyone know of any ways to fix it?
Have you checked if the player is clipping with the ground? Can you move if you turn on noclip and fly to a different position?

I'd consider putting some crevices or protrusions in to make the lighting interact with the wall a bit more interestingly, right now it receives it a bit flat.

Have you placed a "info_player_start" nearby?

Is that a good height to float from or is it too low/high?
