I was hoping someone knew the name so I don't have to search through everyone possible one, but oh well.
At the TF2 pic from the last page: It needs more walking space.
There was going to be, in fact in that pic there was going to be 2 floors, along with an indoor area. Like I said though, the crash got rid of things before I could continue working on it. Speaking of which, I managed to find one other picture of the spawn room.

So the question stands, anyone think it's worth continuing?
That spawn doesn't look big enough to hold 16 players comfortably (which it should) but it looks pretty nice. It's hard to judge a map from two screenshots but I say remake the map or start a new one, making TF2 maps is fun. And if you need any help, TF2Maps.net is always there ;o

uh how about you conduct your search by the name
like water_fx.pcf?

nvm I found it a while ago, after my previous post :I
So I did some changes to the diner, mainly playtesting it and the likes. I've got a few questions to ask, though.

A)In this picture here, how do you make the lights "fit" the fluorescent light and along with that, what's up with that thin thing under the far light? It's not showing up on the editor.
B)Does anyone know what I should put in this here empty space? I'm trying to figure out whether or not to put a pool table or a karaoke stage there, whatever will fit and if I can find a model for it. Your suggestions are welcome too.
Any recommendations of a colour for that light downstairs? Preferably one that isn't weirdly green-ish. Also, anyone know what's going on with the lighting in the last photo? I can't imagine what's making that weird shadow.

A very desaturated purple maybe?
Because the texture is at a 45 degree angle, I imagine that the weird shadow is caused by unaligned light map
So I started mapping again after long delay. Now I'm working on small map, it's average american house from the period of 1940's.
I'll try to make it as interactive as I can.
Here are some WIP screenshots:

And the real prototype.

Holy wow, that's a nice house! Where is the prototype located out of curiosity?
Wow you make brush based objects better than I do. Love that vintage tv, are you going to propper it?

You're the kind of person that could make some really neat stuff happen with an actual 3d modeling program.
I have never seen someone make anything that detailed with just brushes. Great work!
You're the kind of person that could make some really neat stuff happen with an actual 3d modeling program.
Maybe he could. But some people have trouble trying to understand how to use them. I first tried to learn with milkshape in 2002 and still can't do it. Propper makes vastly inferior models but I can compile and get them into the Hammer in less than a minute.

Would you mind not taking a post for each little update you do on this thing.

You're implying I was working on that for a while. I just started on it the other day and the only posts I made on it recently pertained to getting the lights to work.

And I'll be sure to remember that next time I have a question. I didn't go all full retard with the diner like I did those houses though. I didn't say like LOOK I ADDED A JUKEBOX PICS
Update on my l4d2 wip map. So far I decided that the players will have to travel through a flooded, dark tunnel. The water will slow then down and increase the time it takes for them to finish the map :P
Tunnel Entrance

Lane merge that uses custom road line overlays I made on basic concrete texture. This way I can make the lines on the road do anything I want without having to make any more custom textures, 'cause I lazy :I

Questions?

Your past submissions have been exactly like that. There are more pictures of your work in the past 4 pages than any one elses combined...
Flooded tunnels? I haven't seen many for L4D2, looking forward to it.

That's the point of this thread, isn't it? To showcase one's maps?

We're just asking for more changes between pictures so it's actually interesting to see, not boring. 20 changes is better than 1 or 2. If you want to get overdefensive and cry like a baby, the door is over there.

I'm not getting overdefensive, I'm just asking to be double sure. I might end up making my own thread or something.
@that diner thing
Don't use bricks between windowpanes, that isn't how bricks work

Right now I am deciding whether or not to add lighting to it. It will either be pitch black or look like this:

But because it is flooded, I feel like it should not have any power for lights?

A few would be on.
A few would be on.
Some flickering with sparks could be atmospheric, maybe a few broken ones with wires dangling could pose an environmental hazard too?
Some flickering with sparks could be atmospheric, maybe a few broken ones with wires dangling could pose an environmental hazard too?
I might try that, but because the player is submerged knee high in water the entire time, I don't electricity could be used as a environmental hazard because everyone would die the moment they touched the water lol

A realistic perspective on these ideas, a sparking wire would be connected to a breaker. Touching water would cause a short and the breaker would trip. If main line wires underground were somehow exposed to the water, that's a different story.
If you're only going to have a few lights on, they should be close together to imply they're on the same non-tripped circuit. The only ways a few lights scattered throughout could be on is if the electrician was drunk out of his mind, or if most of the lights were damaged, which leads to the last point
If lights are going to be damaged, there should be a realistic reason for it. A tunnel flooding and zombies walking around in the water couldn't damage recessed lights like those.
