I'm not sure what to do with this map now, besides adding more rocks and forming the terrain :)
Can I simply just put it to Gmod Workshop as empty map? There is no gameplay on it.

I love the colour scheme, washed out and brown works really well with the sky.
However.
It is too flat and has too little detail. I recommend more rocks, covering the displacement making the cliffs look more authentic. Then from between the rocks have a few dead trees and stuff.
Also use [t] instead of [img] when posting images.
Needs more rock models to look truly good.

[shamelessadvertising]A few years back I released some rocks, they might be suitable for this chap. Would probably need a reskin though.[/shamelessadvertising]

They're a little blocky as someone pointed out but they're similar to the source ones.
There is also a great collection of rock models in the screenshot section ripped from witcher and skyrim.

Looking at this again
You might also consider using models in the detail.vbsp. This means that when the map is compiled the ground is covered in rocks/props.
Hellsten made a great example of this.

I was gonna say you needed to put a refract on the edges but you did it damn son that's great
This is the first time I've done a project in CS:GO and personally I'm loving the lighting. Any suggestions?

Change the lighting :v:

Should be a darker and less saturated green IMO.

Wow that is some really nice glass, might i ask how did you get it like that?
Change the lighting :v:
Could you be more specific on what parts to change?
Could you be more specific on what parts to change?
Use light_spot and lower the brightness of the light ent significantly.
So i failed at making my map, Because i had no ideas on buildings and what would fit and what would not

However i have changed to make my home city, that is dublin city but only a part of it
the red border is what i am going to do.
I feel that i would be able to make it by remaking the buildings. However i am worried about the size, can someone tell me if i would be able to make it that big or do i need to highlight a smaller size
Oh and if you want to look at size just google maps Dublin city and take a look
Edit: Or maybe this area will do

Hand drawn normalmap and refract material.
I'll release all of it once I get the rest finished, it's going to be a full set containing multiple edge-finish types.
I've been busy.

Cool thanks a lot man. It is really nice glass. Much better than the default one they give you :D

How did you get that round about. Did you just make it peice by peice. It's really nice but the turn onto it by the orange house looks a bit off, just the texture though
Edit: Turn off not on my bad

Try mapping some of the smaller area then expanding, it depends on how well optimised it is really.

I used the arch tool three times, for the inner kerb, road, then outer kerb. After that I spent a long time aligning everything to the grid using the vertex tool.
What is wrong with the texture? I know some stuff looks a bit sloppy at the moment.

Not majorly wrong with the texture its just the lines on the turn off are not matching with the lines on the straight road. I'm just a but OCD when it comes to that sort of stuff

I don't recall ever seeing glass edges detailed like that, I tried to recreate that effect in the hobby shop I did a while back.

I've fixed up the light_spot being too high in brightness and looking like an light, better?
Yeah, I'm planning to release it as a DarkRP/basewars map so I'm trying to cut down on custom content and have as many interiors for people to use as bases as possible. The only problem with this is that my interiors really suck :v:. They're not nearly as realistic as the exteriors - low detail, wasted space, etc. I'm not sure why, either. My plan is to revamp all of the interiors by myself, get a second person to help me out with layouts and interior detail, or just leave them as-is. There are DarkRP maps with worse quality and they're still popular, so I wouldn't worry about it a lot.
Anyway, here's some more progress. Two more buildings - a corner cafe and a fake apartment.
Overview of the map so far.
I don't actually play DarkRP so maybe somebody could help me out. What're some essential features of a DarkRP map other than a police HQ and apartments?
Blimey... Yours puts mine to shame! Haha. I hope you dont mind me asking but where did you get your textures and props?
Also! More progress:

Its the neighboring house to the appartments that I still need to spruce up:

Most of the signs are from Fish's GTAIV texture port pack, which is a collection of textures ported from GTAIV. A good part of the buildings and foliage are from Left 4 Dead.
I'm kinda surprised a Source mod hasn't been at least planned for it. Sure it'd take a lot of custom content and I mean having to program the ability to lean forward. Dunno if source 2 is even ready for it.
Glass has a green-blue "glow" to it's edges because of internal refraction and caustics (or something like that).
The best way to represent what it often looks like, is to use a refract shader:

Looks like some people are working on RP maps. I've never done that before, Would anyone play this?

I can easily transform it into an RP, it is only some practice. It could have a purpose after all.
Prop Hunt maybe?
Maybe make a small pile of trash that has accumulated over by the outflow grates from when there was still water flowing through there.

Hey, if HL2 RP is still a thing, why not.

Looks good, although you could try putting that dirt decal along the lowest point in the canal, like it is silt from the water that flowed through there.
