Making some good progress. This area still needs a little more work, but I now have all but one small corner of the grid filled up.

As I mentioned earlier, there is water in the map. I originally wanted to keep it quite shallow even in the sea, but now I'm thinking there's not much of a point to that. It does look kinda nice from some angles, but I feel that the map would be more enjoyable overall if the water were at a normal height. Should I raise it? Here's how it looks right now:

Try raising it, then post some comparison shots.

Definitely raise it. If you are going to keep it this shallow you would be basically throwing away performance for nothing.
Arguably change the prop bridge too, so that there is more clearance. No doubt someone will want to drive a semi medium size boat, rather than a row boat, into that dock area and beyond.
Yeah, I think this is an improvement.

Right, the reflections are a massive performance killer. I'll probably have to disable them either way. Hopefully I can make it look somewhat acceptable with a cubemap.

Recess the fluorescent lights into the ceiling like this:

And create a door instead of a bland square hole blasted into the wall, just a note.

Try to keep it BuildRP compatible, don't unreasonably block off unusual places to get to. Boats are fun to build.

It really depends on the place. Is this a mansion fence or a cemetery fence.

I mean, it's pretty empty right now, and the textures are placeholders, but I'm aiming for something that is at least recognizable... The worst part will be the houses, I think I will do 3/4 different ones, and instance them on the map.

I'm not sure if you've ever actually roleplayed, you're meant to leave rooms more or less empty so that people can build in them.

According to the shadows beneath the props, these are prop_physics(_overrides), so the players can just shove them aside and throw them on the streets or the server administrators would remove them.
