I disagree. I think the noise makes looking up at the balconies more interesting. It reminds me, in a weird way, of some late-80's street art crossed with the color scheme of a early 2000s apple store. And I like it.

That seriously reminds of those towers from CTF-Face. It's probably the slanted walls and those column-like windows that make me think of that.

I would like to see someone attempt to build a generic city in the current Source 2 hammer. I mean, as time goes on, you'll be able to use it in the beta (assuming it'll be used on a different/unreleased game by then) and then the alpha (something equivalent to the HL2 source version, where it was the base source and you could use it on all games whereas using Dota 2 maps is...awkward :v:)
i'll probably give it a whirl when there's an FPS running on source 2
Still working on the bhop map that I picked up last week. The layout is finished but I'm still plodding through detail.
I've decided that I'll do sweeps through the map in stages, starting with detail and texturing, then lighting, then polishing.
It's taking an age but I'm quite eager to see it finished. It's still too dark but I plan on tuning the lighting later.

Looks awesome, I think the lighting suits the map perfectly. I'd love to make bhop maps but I can't bhop so it'd be hard to test myself.
Are any of you guys into surf maps? Was thinking of making a video of my WIP.
Here! Bot not into Skill surf maps. i like the Surf-N-Shoot-Find-Secrets kind of surf maps.
Also DON'T EVER play sourfmaps with Deathmatch gamemode. It just destroys the joy of getting trough the map and finding better weapons as further you come. (I'm talking about CSS surfmaps )
I kinda wish someone made a nice surf gamemode that is similar to the CSS kind of surfing.

Nevermind, it finished. Should be done processing in a minute. I had to make a keybind to toggle mat_fullbright as I haven't lit indoor areas yet. That curved ramp I'm currently working on replacing, but it will take a little bit of time.

As you can see near the end, the tube has a filter so that you must actually play the map to go through it. Being in the spawn area resets the filter so that you can't use any telehop tricks to get a super fast time.

I love the earthy color palette you have going for this map, it's very consistent in style which is always great. I feel like it could use some more green, maybe overgrowth like small shrubs/bushes near the dilapidated buildings. More cypress trees along the edge would help with that as well, since they're common in real life - farmers used to plant trees as a natural fence to mark property edges. Some wood debris would be good too, I'm not sure if TF2 has those props though.

I saw the angles and lighting placement and thought 'man that looks a lot like matte paintings for the Klingon homeworld' and then I opened the thumb... you made my day.
