It looks like the vertical post would break though, from the weight of the lights+signs; make the main post thicker.

I don't know why, but I really like the slightly flat theme you have in there
Yes i finally got multiple traffic lights working for a large intersection. It's my first time doing this kind of stuff so i'm quite happy with it, here it is

Looks kinda off-balance.
I'd hate to see that sign on a windy day. :v:
What are those road textures that you're using? Are they available for download?
I wasn't exactly sure what american motorway traffic lights look like so i just guessed. if anyone has a pic i can work with i can make it better. also would anyone have a metal pole texture the would go with this

i've been meaning to go back and do a v3_0, or at least a v2_1. not entirely happy with the lighting, and the textures are all stock.

These are Canadian, but American are the same.

We also have traffic lights at different levels so that everyone can see them, wherever you are and however tall or short your vehicle is.

and you can kinda see it in the above picture (the light on the left with an extra module on the bottom), we have some funky arrow lights that other countries may or may not have. Basically it's a the same red, green, and yellow lights but it has arrows on them to allow (or disallow) turning on busy intersections.
[editline]29th August 2014[/editline]
yea we get a little funky every now and then

Considering it looks like you have 4 avenues converging, I would recommend using these turning traffic lights, even though it makes shit hella more complicated, it'll be realistic.
so i'm doing some architecture practicing

gonna decrease the lightmap scale later and add some more details
Worked a bit on the lightning and added more art and details.
Once again. I'm not aiming for "realism". It's a map for a cinema server i like.
The windows are too pointy.
I really need tips on making windows in hl2 style.
No prob with modern architecture, but with the half-life one... O.o
Why does CSS say I'm missing "new light 1"?
I love how the 3D skybox doesn't make the map beyond fog that empty anymore.

The second screenshot is high in air to show the skybox, normally inacessible. Also, any suggestions how to blend the fog better? Since the sky has large amounts of different colors, it's difficult.

satin i dont know how to get the map still

Just use a transparent gradient in your 3d skybox.
I wish there was a way to allow fog to have a gradient based color rather than just a uniformly solid color that looks terrible on one side of a skybox.
Fog in Source is pretty bad.

There is fogblend for a 2 color gradient. Not the most flexible but it's something at least.

You click the download button then scroll down and choose a download location.
Worked a bit on the entrance area.
Still heavy WIP.
Also i'm not quite statisfied with the the completly green room. Might gonna completly redo it.
The street is just skybox, not playable area. I'll add streetlights and more objects to it.

I agree, it also lets you toggle it being drawn so you can see into your map.

A while ago, I was showing off this city map on this thread. I haven't worked on it for a while and I'm not sure whether I'm eventually going to finish it or not, so I'm just going to go ahead and post a link to this map so that I don't end up taking it to the grave with me. The BSP is already packed, so you don't have to worry about having L4D2 or whatever if you just to play the map in Gmod or something. The VMF, however, requires L4D , L4D2, and CSS as well as this GTA 4 texture pack.

Like I said, the map's pretty incomplete, but I figure someone out there would have some fun with it. I don't remember if I posted the BSP before (I do remember linking to the VMF since someone was asking for it so that they can practice with it), but either way, it's probably worth sharing the files.
