The new trimesh tool for Half-Life 1 is really awesome. [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/919004825160119150/79F3CB510C84A84EBF80B651319FC86C5E513C87/[/t]
I'd love to see a map made entirely with dev textures but with cool, detailed architecture like that
old map of mine
Update on the office building: [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/595871100789798956/F4B65480B0E60BA74F3BFBDCD7F16E7C06D84B3E/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/595871100789813082/7C67040CAE75FD77E16EEE04E754FDD542A8A97E/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/595871100789817928/8C853A24316DD46D59D1C744505A7DF4E1D97612/[/t] Compile took 35 hours (34+ was on vvis alone), then when I proppered the window frames it got it down to only a few minutes.
35 hours?! There might be some other problems cause there's no way for it to take even on a final compile without funch_detailing that long.
35 hours?! So when I looked into it I saw that someone else had the same problem and using "less complicated brushes" worked for them, hence why I proppered the windows to remove the window brushes all together, which fixed all the problems that I know of. Such beauty, hiding such sin. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good tree models? Looking for some fall stuff preferably.
Yea I do know, I used it on the railings. I regret not doing that to the windows to begin with. :v:
use it on the circle in the center of the map.
use it on everything that doesnt block line of sight or base geometry.
Made the entryway, it's nice to not be floating in thin air anymore.

Been working on several conceptual designs. I recently overhauled one of them. From this: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13825278/left4dead2%202012-11-04%2014-12-42-19.png[/t] To this: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13825278/left4dead2%202012-11-04%2014-05-44-34.png[/t]
That is a very clean and just mopped floor you have there.
That is a very clean and just mopped floor you have there.
If you look closely you'll see the fire sprinklers have malfunctioned and are spraying water, hence the puddle beneath a tile and a general "wet" look.
