I decided to boot up the CS:GO SDK after just using 3DS MAX and the RO2 SDK (UDK) for several months. I thought I would forget all of the hotkeys but it's just like riding a bike. A broken, shitty, outdated bike.

Not really sure how I feel about all these bevels, any opinions/advice?
It looks like the automatic smoothing groups are causing fucked up shading

Yeah, I noticed that too. Is there a fix or workaround for it? I'm just getting used to hammer again, so I'm not really sure what to do.

The halls are still really bare and I need to re-position the top wall texture. Still, I think the walls came out nicely, windows are shit though but I'll probably get a model for those, and a custom door texture too.
Some suggestions for the lighting would be appreciated too, right now I think it's slightly plain.
Floor looks too clean compared to the walls, needs some wear and tear on it.

It's a sketch I did a while ago that I'm making in hammer for some practice. It's supposed to be some kind of ancient alien tower thing that some rebels are gonna use for a base.

There was actually supposed to be a prison level in the game, but it was cut. There is still concept art of it.

I decided to ditch the Silversun Strip theme. It needed a lot more effort than I originally thought, more than I'm willing to go under. So instead, I'll try my hand at a Presidium map which should fit the models and textures I currently have nicely. The only problem is, most if not all of them (the models) are prop_dynamics and are therefore unsuable as prop_Statics (I'm using cire992s map pack btw). If anyone wants to help me convert the assets for static prop use, it'd be much appreciated.
also i could use some more foliage props to seal the garden look :v:

Turn down the flares a bit. Except that it is looking pretty nice.
Turn off of the flares.
I'd say those screen flares aren't needed. The other ones, though... I'm not sure, it gives it a Mass Effect edge to it, but it's also a bit annoying.
Otherwise, looking really good! I hope you'll make more ME maps now that you've got the taste for it :)
i see where you're going with the lens flare thing but you need to make them much more subtle; only real bright lights should have strong flares

the flares look weird on the screens tho. i think you should have removed those entirely and given the lamps weak flares
i believe it looks strange when you see them in screenshots... if i'm not mistaken they probably look better in game when you are moving around?
Just looks like too many. a couple here and there, like one for every two lights or something, would be better and less cluttered.
im sure that all those flares arent visible from most angles

Working on remaking cs 1.6 classic map, guess what map it is.(very wip)
So the CT's had chalk with them to quickly mark the hostage rescue zone on the grass before the rescue attempt? :v:

Although not much of a point, it's still a point. See if you can acquire a custom small flag or other portable object to signify the hostage rescue zone.
