I like the rivers and the hills you got some nice displacements there. Im not keen on that tree model wheres it from? Has the map got any lighting in yet cause it doesnt look like it?

Hey I've been workin on a small Zombie Mod map for CS:S. It contains nothing but destructible boxes so that players can carve their way through the map and hold off. This is my first time optimizing a map and I wanted to know if someone would take a look at it. Ive been following the development since you started playing, but my only suggestion is that, the night time version would most likely be bad for competitive play.
the night version just needs better lighting and it's good to go.

People don't realise this when they make, say, Minecraft textures. They only need to be 16x16 with Point Sample checked. What started out as just looking at wonderful custom textures in hammer restarted my love of mapping. I'm using Hostel's Stalker pack and PhillipK's scifi pack. The result is a rather well worn Russian space station from the future. 20 minutes in hammer, it's simple blocky geometry (I'm not much of a mapper), but the textures make it look pretty.
