edit: uploaded the wrong picture, yeah I need a break.
This looks amazing, but I imagine that the way they are the buildings are only exterior right? If you can go inside those that would be sooooo cool.

I made it all from scratch without any planning or what ever. I made it for a practice then decided to make it a real map for Portal 2.
I try making my own kind of design and I mess around.
What do you think so far?

Looks stunning, I really like the style of it. Are those trusses made with brushes or models?
Looks stunning, I really like the style of it. Are those trusses made with brushes or models?
Mostly both. There are large truss and column in brushes and tons of models.
Next time i am joining the facepunch google hangout I will be working on it.
I also cut a 45° angle on every corner of the brush so they look smoother.
I improvised the whole design. Just thinkng about what i should add to make it looking good.
[editline]12th July 2013[/editline]
Added new lights, area_portal and info_lightning to fix out tons of lighting rendering issue
Will need to work on the cubemaps soon

You mean model porting skills, or atmosphere skills?
You mean model porting skills, or atmosphere skills?
Atmosphere skills.
That looks amazing. Wish I had mapping skills that good.
It's pretty much porting models and not making them look like shit. I don't even like the source engine that much anymore but I did this as a project for my community and to say the least it's been quite fun.
My sci-fi map is not dead, I swear. Using SFM's hammer after steampipe is forcing me to do a lot of the in-game testing in SFM or alien swarm, which is less then ideal though. I've also darkened things to allow for more dynamic lighting since it looks way better when done in SFM.

and with a bit of SFM set dressing/lighting

Update on the Oil Rig map for CS:GO - MrTwoVideoCards

I love the color palette, it works really well.
Even though I doubt a real oil rig would have that many shipping crates, it's convenient cover.
Yeah I plan to remove some of the containers and replace them with more oil rig assets, just need something to fill the space for now.
