Is it worth compiling with hdr? I don't think I've ever done it.
nothing remarkable, just a generic hallway and a room for BMS.

Why are only some windows boarded up? I'd make sure just about each window had at least a board or two still stuck to it, maybe boards that fell to the ground, broken ones here and there, hell maybe nail hole decals too.
Also, from the looks of it, your windows themselves don't have any real depth to them, they look 1 unit thick. Kind of makes them look odd imo, but that's nitpicking.

That is quite fucking remarkable. Beautiful map you got there.
More textures! also the other one as its a new page.

Awesome! I love that wallpaper. I think though, that since those are globe lights that light would be radiating from the top as well, at least a little bit.

See how it radiates below, as well as up? I know this isn't the same exact light, but the globe properties are similar.

Could disable shadows on the light models and stick a light entity in the middle of the globe
A castle.

Nice.
If you want to, you can try and create a blendmodulate for the cliff and brick texture and use it to blend the cliffwall into the castlewall nicely.
Alternatively you could use an overlay created from the clifftexture and apply it along the line where the cliffwall intersects with the castlewall to cover up the seam a little bit.

Not really, never bothered.
I don't like how dark the last two photos are - at first I was like, "hey it apocolyps so it fine11!11" but after taking those photos I've discovered the true problem: I'm lazy and will justify it at all costs.
WELL I'M FIXING IT, AND I CAN'T STOP ME.
Isn't 128/112 the standard height for walls?
128 is the standard, when you have a ceiling it's 120, then floors above repeat it.
my hotline miami map is almost done

so adjust your exposure, HDR default is 100% and thats why it always looks weird because people dont know how to use it

i have to mess with io/entities? nah i'll pass on hdr

you can brag about how many afk hours you had in source sdk and how you have years of mapping experience but yet in this thread you've never displayed anything else than the knowledge of a guy that has been mapping for two weeks would have.
The slightest obstacle results in "nah i'll pass" "lol complicated gonna scrap that" "not listening to you". What the fuck do you expect from your work if you are unable to use google, check the valvedev wiki, ask in the mapping questions thread or simply try things and especially stop fucking crying in this thread for every little problem you encounter because YOU refuse to figure out why there is a problem. Your attitude makes me fucking mad because you're the exact opposite of what a mapper should be.

then what should i show? i dunno
my 1000+ hours clocked in sdk is almost no idling
i'm lazy, that's all

I haven't really decided what I'm going to do with this map yet.
It's not a 1-to-1 windy valley remake, it just uses its assets, so...what the hell should the map be for?
i have to mess with io/entities? nah i'll pass on hdr
Your ignorance is insulting.
We've thrown you so many bones and held your hand through every situation you ask, and you simply scoff it off saying youre too lazy and continue your terrible habits. You don't care about feedback and you refuse input, so how exactly in the fuck do you expect to better yourself?
If you refuse to listen, why the hell do you even bother posting here? You're not only wasting your time, but you're wasting ours.

You don't magically get better, that's not how it works. I spite you for thinking otherwise.

Giraffen no
I like your maps but saying that is the same as saying "I don't want to get better" and that is a slippery slope.
Improvement is something that can come from anywhere, anytime, and should not be brushed off because you'd rather do something you're comfortable with. You have to leave your comfort zone to improve.

i don't like leaving my comfort zone, whatever it might relate to.
currently searching my computer for maps that i can post
i never implied that i want to get better
Then dont post in here. This is a thread for posting images that you want feed back on to improve.

You should try it sometime, you might be pleasently suprised at what you can accomplish.
